The guy already owns the Loran set; he's not talking about buying one. It's much like your wife. She already has you. That hardly means she'd buy another you today. And, if she adopts your progressive views, she's likely to discard the you she's got for a more sophisticated model. I trust that this explanation has been beneficial to you. (vbg)

Did you guys hear about the last boat show I went to?
Last August, at the Michigan City in Water Show, I go up to the guys at the Catalina Dock that I know, I say, Do you know Brian, the technical ediitor of the 400, goes by the name of The Dock Monitor?
I kid you not, they all looked at me and said, "Ya we know the Dock Monitor, we heard that he has been barred from writing in the Mainsheet, what ever happened to him?"

The answer:
He started reading a post from Sailaway21. He is still reading it. One day he even hopes to interpret it - but lets not get too hasty!!

He's in a funk because he swore we'd never see gas prices so low ever again. He's similarly distressed about the cleat you ripped off on my humble boat. Such an event on the S/V Sea Musty would be an end of life as he knows it, hence his on-going concern.

And exactly where did I say that??? In fact, I think I remember saying something along the lines of gas prices falling again and us forgetting that we need to get off of foreign fuel. It might also be noted that your "Drill here, Drill now" sticker is fading. Why? I asked a oil man and he said that it becomes unprofitable to drill here at less than about $70/barrel. I guess Exxon's patriotism dies about $69/barrel.
Is it true? I don't know.
ANother interesting thought is that our idiot friend down in S America has been growing increasingly quiet (with the exception of shooting verbal shots at Israel... you know, when he is safely halfway across the world). I bet you that if Israel was next door, he might be keeping his clap trap shut.

PS See ya in the Sextant... I mean the Loran thread!!
