BF,
I cannot but stand in awe, the Blutto (John Belushi in Animal House) of sailnet has spoken! Remember, he's in pre-med. (I thought it was pre-law. Pre-med, pre-law, what's the difference?) Sounds like time for a ROAD TRIP! Portugal is nice this time of year, racing sailboats looking for crew?

Wow...3 months on the boat alone...that's a lot of "shaking the snake" with your leftie and a lot of power socket screwing!!

Question...do you use your sailing gloves???

Suddenly I have the urge to draw one of my instruction papers for that on paintbrush....

hey watch PB...he's been on the boat alone for so long, that he's embarrassed to shake hands with people when he lands, because of the caluses in his "leftie" sister...ehehehehehehehe

Power sockets in his boat look like bordelo ones...

I prefer 12V lamp sockets, they tingle just right. 120V is just downright painful (will only make that mistake once).

Now that could be called a relationship ending with extreme prejudice. Volunteering your ex for Giu's photoshop ministrations. A living death if there ever was one..

Let me explain it a little.

I see a lot of people here post about "the admiral" and the "better half" and such, and then..its all gone. Why this plays with my small mind you may ask....

I come from a very small country, where family bonds and comitments such as live toghether (exclude boy/girl friend deals where at the end of the day both go to their homes), and relationships are almost sacred.

I still see my mother, my mother in law, my father in law, and aunts, and the whole family almost every day. We visit each other every day, and we marry and live near the family (easier done in a small country like mine, but common in Southern Europe).

So to me its a really incredible thing that you guys in the US, marry and divorce, get toghether and split in a dime...we don't do that.

We have a very very low rate of divorce, because for us a man/woman relationship is for life, its embeded in who we are and in our tradition...

So for me, a divorce or a split is a "disaster", but I keep seeing them when exposed to Americans...see why my surprise??

I was shocked when BF anounced the split, and when YOU anounced it now...after all I consider you friends, so in my mind I feel for your sadness..

Now...I know from my exposure to you guys, that's how you do it...so I'm better now. But in my mind, I needed to see her to say good bye to her, even though I never met her.

I know It does not make sense, I'm from a small place. Sorry

By the way, another thing that surprises me is how some here refer to the GF as the Admiral. To me the Admiral is only Admiral if you marry. Whil in the GF phase, its nothing but a Cadet....same for you girls, in relation to us.

SA, read above, I would never ever do that.

Relationships, death, religion, and in some cases politics is something I DO NOT joke with.

Also where I come from, we cherish women, and are educated to respect and love them, and consider them wonderfull for the gift of maternity, so I would never ever play around with his ex. Ask DJ how long it took her to joke with me until I finally I photoshopped her....aand I appologised many times to her, so she would not be mad with me.

In fact that is one of the things I "clashed" with that woman of the Schooner...in my mind, seeing her do things that are say less "normal" to attract attention of the man was shocking to me. But als, she never understood me, and decided on a cruzade against me, of all people.

Anyway, maybe she never understood my english and even if I wanted to explain it to her...was too late.

Well said, Giu. She's only the Admiral if you're willing to risk her ending up with the boat!
