Fly Continental...the Airline That Gets You Nowhere

I DO NOT FLY CONTINENTAL ANYMORE

EDITED...TYPE SIZE...Cam
IT IS NOW RATED THE WORSE AIRLINE I HAVE EVER HAD THE MIS-PLEASURE OF FLYING......

BAD SERVICE.... SO BAD, THAT BAD SERVICE CHOOSES ANOTHER AIRLINE TO FLY....

I HATE THAT AIRLINE, AND WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT IT IS....ITS WORSE THAN AIR INDIA...BAD SERVICE, VERY VERY VERY BAD SERVICE...ON GROUND AND IN THE AIR (WELL WHEN THY HONOUR THEIR PASSENGERS WITH FLYING...A RARE THING TODAY

IN FACT...THIS WEEK IT WILL BE PRINTED IN A LARGE NEWS PAPER IN EUROPE.... THE EDITOR IN PORTUGAL ( HE'S AT MY SON'S BIRTHDAY PARTY WAITING FOR ME, BUT THANKS TO THE STUNNIG INCOMPETENCE OF CONTINENTAL TO TRANSPOORT PEOPLE, I WILL NOT MEET HIM...BUT HELL I CALLED HIM) ASSURED ME HE WILL PRINT IT.

I will bad bouth continental airlines as long as I live

I FLEW CONTINENTAL 10 TIMES SINCE DECEMBER 2006:

IN 10 FLIGHTS, ALL DOCUMENTED, I HAD:

7 DELAYED FLIGHTS WHERE I HAD TO RUN LIKE AN IDIOT TO CATCH THE NEXT FLIGHT

2 FLIGHTS CANCELLED, PLUS LAST NIGHT...THAT MAKES IT 3 CANCELLED FLIGHTS

ALLWAYS WITH UN TRUE EXCUSES...SO THEY DON'T KEEP UP WITH THEIR PROMISES....THERE IS PEOPLE SLEEPING AT THE AIRPORT FLOOR..THEY DIDN'T GIVE THEM HOTEL...THEY FLY COACH......YOU DO NOT TREAT PEOPLE LIKE THAT...WHERE ARE YOUR MORAL AND CIVIL RIGHTS, AMERICA?????

AMERICANS...DON'T GO OUTSIDE THE US HELP OTHER COUNTRIES AND DON'T FIGHT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS THERE...GET THE HELL TO NEWARK AIRPORT...SEE WHAT AND HOW CONTINENTAL TREATS THEIR PASSENGERS, YOUR OWN....AMERICA...YOUR WOMEN...YOUR OLDER...THE US CHILDS....ITS IN-HUMANE...DOWN WITH CONTINENTAL
YESTERDAY I LEARNT THAT THEY DIVERTED ME TO NEWARK, TO MAKE MY JOURNEY MORE CONFORTABLE.....YES....AT AHOTEL...I AM CONFORTABLE

THEY DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE ME THE HOTEL, AS THEY TRIED TO CLAIM THEIR CANCELLATION WAS DUE TO WEATHER...I FOUND OUT THEY DID NOT HAVE A PLANE...SO WE WAITED FOR ONE...FROM 9 PM TIL 1 AM...TIME AT WICH THE CREW SAID...OH WELL I'M GOING HOME...AND THEY DID.....THEY GOT MY BAG, LOST SOMEWHERE IN NEWARK AIRPORT..SO I BOUGHT A TICKET WITH AIR PORTUGAL, AND AM FLYING LATER ON...

DO NOT FLY CONTINENTAL...IT MAKES YOUR SAILING ALL MESSED UP...

I
MISSED MY SON's BIRTHDAY PARTY, WILL MISS HIS SCHOOL FATHER'S DAY (ours is 19 March) PLAY AT HIS SCHOOL AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SAIL BECAUSE I ARRIVE ONE DAY AND HAVE TO LEAVE TO BRASIL FOR 4 DAYS AFTER...

SO IT PREVENTED ME FROM SAILING, SO THIS POST IS HERE....

Giu-

Sorry to hear you had flight troubles... but what did you expect in the era of airline bankruptcies... and the TSA certainly doesn't help much..

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

TSA...ah that's another joke...at 1 am we went out to get to the ticket desk (that closed at 11 pm) and couln't go back to the gate because....THEY, TSA WENT HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Airport Security on a time table...so if you want to carry matches, lighters and baby milk...just wait till 11 pm...then pass at will!!!!!!!!

So we were stuck with no ticket AND no gate people to help!!!!!!

I will one day write a blog...don't do it know...I don't react to good to PRESSURE

hellosailor will become famous soon enough
Scratching my head and wondering, Giu, so I have to ask:

And why is this news to you?

The sad state of the airline industry has been common knowledge in the US for years. Flyers and flyer web sites have widely discussed this. And some airlines (I give Delta the prize) simply lie all the time every time because it is easier to make up stories than to find out the truth and risk telling it to the customer.

On the other hand, I give big kudos to American Airlines, who have uniformly gone the extra mile (no pun intended) to give me answers when I ask questions. If I ask "Where is the incoming equipment coming from? Is it on time?" the gate agent and the desk agent are both willing and able to look up the tail number and find out where the plane is--which tells me if it might take off on time once it gets in.

Look up "Rule 240" which can be magic words in the US--but only if you have a real ticket, which the airlines now often charge an extra $25-50 for for.

Our FAA allows the airlines to duck out of many things if a flight has "weather" problems (including Rule 240) but many airlines often say "weather" in order to get out of their responsibilities--while the FAA database and official records show weather was not reported and not logged by them officially.

Personally? I go to the FCC web site and log into the official Flight Notification System. It will then send SMS messages to your cell phone, or email, every time there is a change in airport status for the airports you have selected. (Note, government intelligence is at work here, you must log in AGAIN to stop the chatter!)

So when the airline tells me my flight will be leaving on time...but the FAA tells me there are three hours delays where the equipment is supposed to come from, or ground holds stopping all traffic on my route, I know better.

There are also some nice real-time flight trackers out there, mostly subscription based, that will tell you the status of flights in the air, and the airports, so if the airline tells you "You're gonna fly Continental equipment tail number N1428E today" you can actually find out where that plane is--or isn't.

Means you need web access on your cell phone, or WiFi in the airport, but the point it--they can only screw, ergh, fool, some of the folks all of the time. The rest of us can look them in the face and say "Gee, isn't that funny, the FAA says you're lying to me." And then, Rule240 sometimes says you're entitled to the first seat out on any other carrier. Which the airlines HATE to give you, because they may have to pay full list price for the same-day seat.

TFB, they're the ones who think "market demand pricing" is a good idea.

It also helps to find out what city your carrier is "hubbing" out of. Those that orient all their flights from a hub airport which is often subject to weather closures (some are worse than others) are going to be messed up worst. If a fly sneezes in Atlanta,Ga, Delta shuts down the entire East Coast, because they can't fly without Atlanta. Continental? Dunno, supposedly Cleveland, Houston, and Newark, which means when Newark is snafu, the entire Northeast will be down too.

Airlines were a good thing from the dead past. The Airline Industry? A sad reminder of what used to be "Airlines". And remember to bring along a major credit card, you'll need to swipe it in order to use the lavatory, or deposit five dollars in exact change to open the lav door now. (Sure, I might be kidding about this one. Right now.)

Hello, thanks

Very usefull info...

I will do that now...well maybe I don't need, I will stay with European Airlines as much as I can..

I never had real problems with American..and my Customer's normally sellect Continental for me...or used to..

Any way..not any more...after the emails I sent..I got already a few replies...lets see...one of the Customers.

But wait..this gets better....they are now trying to get their poor passengers, in the TAP flight, and there are still seats avilable...but no one to endorse the tickets to TAP..because they are still stating it was weather...

Some of the Airport people have to wait till Tuesday now!!!!!!!!!!!!! and for some..no hotel!!!!

Flights are screwed up all over North America because of a massive winter storm in the northeast. A good example of the trickle down effect.
