Wrecked my truck today....one less Datsun in the world now.

Ive had this 1978 Datsun truck for almost 3 years now. Kinda sucks that i wrecked it. Hit a honda civic pretty hard. I dont think i can pull the front end out. It hit so hard that the drivers side door wont open. I know a junkyard here that has a few of these and i might be able to get a cab off one.

Not too bad, here's a saab that rear-ended me (I have a 1988 volvo wagon) a couple weeks ago:

That's what happens when a car nosedives on hard braking, the bumper goes under the car in front and that sheetmetal just folds up.

Star,
Is the driver side frame rail bent?

I new it had to happen. I said to myself, "myself, bad things come in threes". First Giu broke his boom, then yesterday, I got cut off and smashed up my Ford, and today the death of a Datsun. I left my camera on the boat, but I will post the evidence tomorrow.

Last year, leaving the marina, a lady in a brand new Cadillac was tailgating me... At the end of the street, I stopped for a stop sign, and she ended up hitting my truck...

Unfortunately for her, I had the trailer hitch still on my truck, and it took out her bumper and her radiator... and she didn't even make it past the trailer hitch...never touched my bumper.

To top things off, as I got out of the truck to exchange papers with her, a local police cruiser pulled up alongside her and the officer stepped out. He had been watching her tailgating and speeding... and was originally going to give her a warning, but after seeing her talking on her cell phone and rear end me... he wrote her up for about six or seven offenses.. Made my day.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Yeah, doing about 55mph when she hit me, problem was, I wasn't hurt or I could'a got all the new stuff I wanted for the boat.

Her car was totaled, the insurance gave me the blue book on mine even though it didn't show any damage. I think mine runs better now. I'll keep it til i leave at the end of the year, then donate it to some charity. If ever back, I'll get another . . . . this is my 4th volvo, and this only has 300,000 miles on it, a puppy.
