I've got one, Its called armchair quarterbacking.
Its always easier to fix the other guy and to tell them what idiots they are safely sitting in front of your computor.
Just like on Monday morning when we all feel we could have done a better job than the professional football team we watched loose again the previous Sunday afternoon. Man those guys are idiots, if I had been leading the team we certainly would have won that game.
I see a lot of that here on these threads.

TJK1...so you think we shouldn't comment on stuff that has happened and dissect it? To my mind that is one of the values of the site. Like all things internet...excesses occur...but I think some of the most interesting threads here are of the "armchair" variety.
One of my pet peeves is others calling us "armchair sailors" as if we never left the PC screen to do real sailing or have the chops to know what we are talking about...especially when they know nothing of our experience.

Like the guy off Newport this AM...you don't have to have much experience to know he should have never left port...but someone will call someone else an armchair sailor for making that comment!

Its more the attitude that our stuff doesn't stink that bugs me.
We all make mistakes; its how each and every one of has learns.
I realize a lot of the stuff you are referring to, put a lot of peoples lives in jeopardy, including the Coasties that had to go a rescue their butts.
But it’s the attitudes I see around here: Like "I've never made a mistake on the water before." Lets face it, none of us are perfect.

Start that and the next thing ya know you'll have pet peeve puppys all over the place, fillin' your day with little turds that, in the end, don't mean a thing.

My pet peeve? That there is an "Off Topic". You all spend all your time over here and don't "Highjack" threads anymore. When I first came on there wasn't an Off Topic and you guys were hysterical, anything from genious dogs ,Boom Brakes, Helmuts, and Launching people onto islands was fair game. I'd laugh till my sides hurt. Get out there and highjack a real thread for old time sakes!!

You know I'm just kidding.
