I grew up in Cascais..and here we have this nice beach called Carcavelos, and anothe one...the top in Europe called Guincho...
Any way...when I was slightly younger we used to surf around here...and there was this movie...The Big Wednesday...
In the movie, there was a guy...the kid's hero...he made these Surf boards called Bear....Bear was a brand created by John Milius, and it was like a dream...
In 2005 I got in touch with a guy called Keith Beddoe Bears shapper!!...check what I had made for me....
Cam, I just wanted to send these to BF...he's got them now. Can you delete the thread?? please? Has nothing to do with boats
Thanks
Surfboards are damn near trhe same thing mate.
I must scan and send to you some pics of my brothers father in law surfing off Sydney in the 1950's on a plywood board he made himself. Now at age eighty something he is making them again, cannot keep up with the demand despite the price. Hand made, one at a time. he's getting something like five grand a pop for the suckers. (Thats about 2500 euros)

Nice board. The movie the Big Wednesday is awesome, it's one of the few good surf movies. The only surfing I've done is shortboard, but I've been to a few longboard competitions and those guys are amazing. I'm not a huge myspace fan, but you really should check out Bear Surfboards myspace page (great music and pictures) www.myspace.com/bearsurfboards
