Very sorry for the loss in your family. I lost my mother15 years ago to breast cancer and I still miss her. She and I were very much alike -- I got my love of nature (and thus sailing, even though she never sailed) from her. Anyway, may you and your family draw strength from knowing that so many others care and are thinking of all of you.

I lost my mother and father to lung cancer 17 and 15 years ago respectively and the pastor that delivered a story that I will now pass on to you.

There is an island of the coast of Louisiana that is just the right distance from the mainland that when a sailboat mast disappears on the horizon, it right then comes in to view to those on the island (curvatureof the earth and all). Just as our loved ones pass from our view they are then greeted on the other side by those that have passed before them (or perhaps God if you are of religious leanings).

Thanks gang, for all the well wishes and heartfelt PMs. The dust is settling, and we are getting by one day at a time.
This fine day finds us with a "babysitter" for Pop and a few days free so we're launching in a few hours for some much needed "us" time. NOAA is calling for next to dead calm(6-10 off and on)and HOT weather for the week, but we have no place to go and all the time in the world to get there.
Not sure what day I'm comin' in but Weds. will be the earliest.
