And now the Dems are pushing a $56m "stimulus" package, on top of the $25m in loans for the Big 3, while everybody else is lining up to stick their hand out. Apparently, the end is not in sight.

I've never heard so many metaphors used to describe a situation. All the experts are saying: It's like a hurricane, it's like an engine seizing up, the economy is like a sick patient...
On a related note, you guys need to find new ways of expressing just how much you hate each others' guts.

Funny, the House GOP wasn't part of the "deal" that was "agreed to" yesterday, so how are they holding it up now? Their votes are NOT needed for passage. Their input is ignored, So how, are they holding up, derailing or anything else the passage of the "vital" bailout?
The only people holding up passage of the bill is the Democrat leadership. They have the votes ...... why aren't they voting?

They are holding it up by refusing to vote for it - The Dem's won't put what they know is flawed legislation up for a vote without full Rep support because they know it's crap, bloated, and not helping. They want to make sure the Rep's can't point fingers and are behaving like the typically gutless wonders they have been since elected.

And they should sign on to a bill that is now, according to Harry Reid, Obama's solution? And they accuse McCain of making it political? While they've spent the whole day pointing fingers at him and the House GOP?
Once they went passed buying up the bad debt, it became political.

I'd be willing to bet that as long as the Dems want 20% of profits from resale to go to Minority Housing Advocacy and Voter Registration Groups, the House GOP will not sign on.
