Totally expected. Yesterday there was a lot of panic selling as people scrambled for cash, and it's normal to retrace some of the loss after a day like that. Whether it lasts or not is the real question.

The Senate is prepared to take up a "new and improved" version of the Bailout. That has to make Wall St happy, knowing they'll get a premium price for their bad paper rather than a market based price.

It's very simple. This is the only bill that allows maximum government intervention. With intervention comes growth and power. It also further entrenches the can't do it without government mentality that will eventually destroy the goose that lays the golden egg.

The revised bailout bill also includes a "Mental Health Parity" provision, which would require health insurance companies to cover mental illness at parity with physical illness.
What they hell, they just can't not tack on silly crap - do people understand what this will do to their insurance policies?
Chuck - the only way they can get this bill passed is by loading it up with "goodies". The only result Washington worries about is their election day vote tally.
