Jobs

CD, You're preaching to the choir over here. If you read my posts, you'll see I'm in total agreement. We are in a sad state of affairs when the definition of accessing credit to live beyond your means translates into paying your mortgage, car payments, gas and groceries. We don't need a bunch of $10.00 an hour jobs... which is what we've gotten the last few years.

Amen.

Of course - the next problem you have to contend with is, where do you put the balance. Under the mattress? Gold? Decent deposits? Mutuals? Hedge funds? Dare I say low cost indexes? Commercial / private rentals?

AHAHAHAHAHHAH!!!!!!!

A good sense of humor is a great thing!!! IT is a beginning. That way everyone will laugh as we are huddled around the barrell fire!! HAHAH!!

PS Steve, you know I am kidding!! Just trying to make light. You have to admit though, there are good points on both sides.

And after a fine shot of tequila or two (or three or so) with the wife literally standing over my shoulder, I will turn this subject a tad to:

WHAT DO YOU DO?

What do you do? I think the day is coming. I think Rick does too, though Rick may think it is already here (I have mixed opinions). I think Steve realizes there is a serious problem but it may (MAY) be overcome if everyone uses their head and does not panic... so what do you do???

Could the argument be made that a sailboat is the safest place to be? Honestly, think about it!! I sure as hell would not want ot live in a major city. A depression. A market collapse. Where would you want to be, what to do?

What are your thoughts, as most of them members here are probably more educated than me? What to do??

- CD

new ideas

CD, I don't think we're anywhere near that point and hope we never will be. My posts have been mostly confined to our economy. We both recognize inequality in our economy and government. Hopefully it's just a matter of tossing the current political 'bums' out so we can can a new bunch elected to office and in the process get a few new ideas to try. On the other hand look how well the last bunch of ideas worked out

Maybe these sisters had the right idea on how to beat the system..

I always have my fall back. Living on the beach somewhere in Mexico, making and selling clay pots to tourists.

HAHA! We might disagree on that point. I don't blame George. I don't like him, but don't blame him. The issues that we are seeing have nothing to do with him. Much can be blamed on Clinton, the Sr Bush, Reagan, etc, etc. Maybe it is none of their fault at all??? Maybe it is just ours and the rest of the worlds. The averge guys. I will take the blame some. I bought too many cars. I bought a much bigger home than I ever needed.

Nah, I don't blame George. He inherited this crap - but did nothing to make it better, and maybe worse.
