My posts here are on Bush , his bumbling and a looming recession. You might want to take a minute and read what I wrote.

You really think 75% of the people support President Bush or his policies? I believe his approval ratings haven't broken over 29% in over a year now. not exactly close to 75%. which makes you and your buddies somewhat of a minority. So, who are the 75% that disagree with me? Well, I guess using your own phrase, it must be the idiots posting here.

I'd be curious to hear by what measure you consider Bush a successful president?

Just what has he done right?

Invade Iran? I don't think so. ..Jury's in...he lied
Protect American rights?... Don't even go there.
A fiscal conservative? Gimme a break, he single handedly tripled our deficit
So, what then? The economy? er....OK

From the liberals....

CNN Lou Dobbs today.
".........We all have to acknowledge that our problems were in part brought on by the failure of our government to regulate the institutions and markets that are now in crisis. The irresponsible fiscal policies of the past decade have led to a national debt that amounts to $9 trillion. The irresponsible so-called free trade policies of Democratic and Republican administrations over the past three decades have produced a trade debt that now amounts to more than $6 trillion, and that debt is rising faster than our national debt. All of which is contributing to the plunge in the value of the U.S. dollar.

At precisely the point in our history in which this nation has become ever more dependent on foreign producers for everything from clothing to computers to technology to energy, our weakened dollar is making the price of an ever-increasing number of imported goods even more expensive.

All Americans will soon have to face a bitter and now obvious truth: Our national, political and economic leaders have squandered this nation's wealth, and the price of this profligacy has just come due for us all............."

From that hotbed of liberal ideas...The Washington Times... (tongue firmly in cheek)

Byline: Donald Lambro, THE WASHINGTON TIMES

There were disturbing signs of further erosion in the conservative Republican base this week when tax-cut crusader Larry Hunter attacked what he called President Bush's below par economic recovery. Breaking with his supply-side allies, the veteran free market economic strategist charged in a paper being circulated among conservatives that Mr. Bush's "economic recovery ain't all it's cracked up to be" and that it is in danger of slipping into a slower growth path. Mr. Hunter said the party's conservative leaders can no ...

Greenspan criticizes Bush policies in memoir

Sat Sep 15, 2007 12:46am EDT By Mark Felsenthal

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan sharply criticizes President George W. Bush's administration and Republican congressional leaders in his memoir for putting political imperatives ahead of sound economic policies, several newspapers reported on Friday.
"Little value was placed on rigorous economic policy debate or the weighing of long-term consequences," Greenspan writes of the Bush administration.............
_______________________________________

For God's sake, even the freakin Republican think tank.

Calling Bush "The Mother of All Big Spenders", the conservative think-tank Cato Institute writes that "Sadly, the Bush administration has consistently sacrificed sound policy to the god of political expediency". Yet when Democrats want to increase spending on domestic issues such as health care for the poor Bush suddenly becomes a "fiscal conservative" accusing them of "working to bring back the failed tax-and-spend policies of the past" and vowing to fight them. But says Cato's Chris Edwards, "When he gives speeches now, you hear him bashing the Democrats on overspending. It sounds ridiculous, because we know he's a big spender". "After running up $3 trillion in new debt - including more than half a trillion dollars for his flawed Iraq policy - it is astounding that the president is once again lecturing Congress about fiscal responsibility and fiscal priorities," stated Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)".....

Perhaps 75% of Sailaways friends love bush. I personally think that people with an IQ below 50 support this guy. Everyone else seems to have his number including leading republicans, which is the point of this post.

And if I'm wrong, why isn't the news headline telling us how wonderful our economy is? Terrific employment numbers? Great, high paying jobs? Record profits?

Yeah...right... and I've been saying the same thing in this thread for months.....

What is absolutely amazing is that everything they argued and typed about for months has already been shown to be wrong... It's ludicrous to continue as now they argue simply because they feel as foolish as their positions have been.

Not a darn thing I can do about that.

This one is really my last post on this thread.

"75% around you " meaning right here Rick, real people talking real opinions, not talking heads who get paid to stir up dissent with flamatory statements. Links to journalists like these don't prove facts, they prove you can cut and paste.

I actually have no problem with you, or people I percieve as like you; my problem is only in the absolutely one sided extreme positions you take on every issue I see you posting on.

As to IQ's below 50 supporting Bush, I personally wouldn't know I didn't vote for him in either election (destroyed your thought there didn't I) - I am however member and actual card carrying member of MENSA (since 1982) with an established IQ of 167.
Want to compare? I'm just a poor hillbilly from the trailer courts of West Virginia

I had to take an IQ test a few weeks ago for a job I was applying for. Scored a 79! Sounds like I'm 88 points smarter than Chuckles... Don't mean to brag, but I've been playing at the top of my game lately.

IQ is not about being smarter It's more about being able to comprehend and solve complex problems, I've read enough of your posts to know you know better than that.

Chuck,
The lower the score on the IQ the smarter you are. It's like golf. To be honest, I thought a higher score was better too. But after I got my results back, the administrator told me how "special" I was, and then he gave me a lollipop. Don't mean to ruin your day, but that's the way it is.

Actually, I think Sailhog GAVE the best advice back in # 572: if you got cash on hand, buy.

(as far as intelligence goes, if any of you were really that smart, would you be playing in this cesspool of a sandbox? )

I stand corrected.
Teach me Wise One.

Actually tho, it's the percentile that important, not the score.
