The Devil's delight at acquiring the soul of that man has been too long deferred. Here's to his renewing acquaintances with Mao and Stalin in a burning eternity.

SanderO is an unknown quantity at this point
He did some great things for the Cuban people and aside from the land owning class who fled to Miami he is quite well like by the Cuban people and that is what matters.

Unfortunately we have had to absorb the right wing Cuban mafia into this country. So there is something to be pissed at Castro for... exporting them. hahaha

I'm not sure the hundreds of journalists would agree. Perhaps the poor do not realize how they've been ripped off by one of the wealthiest men in the world. Castro is in the very top of the list of the wealthy, wonder how he managed that? Keeping the press under your thumb can keep your citizenry in the dark about a lot.

Pamlicotraveler is on a distinguished road
Forbes did list him as one of the world's richest people I think....According to them he is a billionaire, but I don't know how they count state assets and don't know if Castro lives a billionaire's life or not. I think he is sailing a Tartan 3400. (not reallly...)

Anyway...he is a dictator whether he is personally wealthy or not. But apparently the death reports are just another rumor. Too bad.

Jef,
That is a load of horse pucky. Cuba is locked in the 1950's, right where Castro found it, minus the citizens he has tortured, killed, and imprisoned. The economy is a shambles, the standard of living abyssmal.

Your obtuseness obviously extends to the maritime field, where it is commonly regarded as proper procedure to not abandon a perfectly good ship to the vagaries the sea has for an open boat. The Cuban people have been risking life and family to get out of Cuba for almost fifty years; just last week a few made it ashore in the US. This is not the sign of the socialist workers paradise you seem to envision of Cuba. If life is so good in Cuba, why are so many desperately trying to leave?

Your accusations against the Cuban community of Miami can only be ascribed as fitting your general level of ignorance and delusional thinking when it comes to the world and geopolitics.
