The eclipse in tonight (really early tues morning.) You folks in OZ and the south pacific are supposed to get a good show.

The problem is in the States the sun will rise before the lunar eclipse reaches totality in most areas. On the east coast, we'll see totality for about 12 minutes.

Good thing I'm on night shift and will be able to catch the whole thing without sacrificing sleep.

This is great, I am glad I checked the forum. I haven't been sick in a long time but I woke up really sick a while ago, must be something lousy I ate, so this lunar eclipse is a nice kind of consolation prize for me! It is 3am EDT here and it hasn't started yet, but the schedule posted above says soon!

(there is no *sick* smiley, unfortunately)

What time is totality supposed to happen? I heard 0530 EDT, but looking outside the moon has almost set.
