Sorry, guys - I was trying to undo my inadvertent hijack on SanderO's farewell thread, and I started this out of context. (see #29 & 30 on that thread)
This is part of #29: As you know...I love to debate libs (and even conservatives on occasion) who are of good heart and earnestly wish to discuss the issues of the day from their own perspective.
Perhaps I should have phrased it as "do gooders" rather than liberals for nothing angers me more than people who try to restrict others freedom to align and enforce behavior that is in line with their own beliefs. These folks always know what is best for me. Motorcycle helmets, seatbelt laws, no smoking total bans, anchoring laws, boating licenses...limitations on free speech....all for my own good.
So..apologies to my liberal friends here on my poor choice of words. I am forthwith editing my earlier post so as not to cast unintended aspersions on those I heartily disagree with on many issues but still call friends!

Then this from #30: Okay, gotta jump on this one "blue-stater" that I am. Do any of these considered coservative platforms fall into the category of enforcing behavior that is in line with their own beliefs? I noticed these were not on your list:
gay marriage?
abortion?
school vouchers?
faith-based intitiatives?

I agree that I strongly resent someone who believes to know better than I do, what's best for me. Though I resent it from either side. If "side" makes sense. I'm really bored here at work today, wanted to stir things up. Maybe instead I'll get DJ, Melissa, and Denise and go rattle cages on Hoffa's poofy ladies thread.
