I wonder what kind of range those Benetti's have? Always wondered if they can cross oceans.
In all reality, to hijack your thread pirate, what boat would you buy if money was absolutely no object. I mean Bill Gates kind of money? WOuld you buy one of those? A 200' sailboat? A cruise liner all for you?
Honestly, I would not. I would never get a boat I could not sail just me and the family. Who would want to have crew on board?
Just curious if others feel that way too.

I would go with something in the 60 foot range and enjoy with wife and kid as crew. ahh how nice to dream. strange thing is that i see people go from middle class to multimillionaire on a weekly basis, oh yeah and vice versa. if i had sick money i wouldnt mind a 200 footer with a crew of about 6.
although you dont seem to be too bad off

I agree with CD. I think I would have to max out around 50'.
I thought I heard Labatt saying he was interested in one of the Jongert.
He is the only one around here with that kind of dough.
Hey, if your going to get an HR why not look at one of these puppies.

We do ok. I still think abut a Nordhavn every day. I love those boats. maybe bestfriend will give you an idea. They are awesome. We are cruisers first, so the idea of going anywhere in comfort and lots of space is always appealing. I might go for the Nord 62 (like Buffet got), but I don't know. I would probably be more happy with the 46.
I like the Mason 52, Hylas 54, and the Taswell is pretty nice too. Still, the draft would be such a turnoff. I think Labatt is finding that out right now.

Nordhavn 46 helm:
Nord from the outside:
Now that is a pretty boat. 5000+ range on tank of diesel. Single screw, full displacement boat. Has a wing engine too.
Pretty cool, huh?

Tom Morris up in Maine would get a call from me. Something in the mid-40 foot range would do nicely -- a Chuck Paine design especially.
