Airline bans A380 mile-high club

Good luck on enforcing this

Singapore Airlines has taken the unusual step of publicly asking passengers on its new Airbus A380 plane not to engage in any sexual activities. The potential problem has arisen because the first class area of its giant superjumbo contains 12 private suites complete with double beds.
Singapore, which is the first airline to start flying the A380, said the suites were not sound-proofed. It said it did not want anyone to offend other travellers or crew. Singapore added that while the suites were private, they were also not completely sealed.
'Observing standards'
"All we ask of customers, wherever they are on our aircraft, is to observe standards that don't cause offence to other customers and crew," the airline said in a statement.
"Nothing different applies for our Singapore Airlines Suites customers."
Singapore Airlines took delivery of its first A380 earlier this month, with the first services between Singapore and Sydney starting on 25 October. It is now set to take delivery of a further five A380s in 2008, out of its order of 19.

Isn't that photo the one the Wombat posted of his boat's cabin? Did they say where the offensive behaviorist's point of origin was? A dime says it was Oz.

Ha, like people are going to observe that directive. I know I would not. Want to bet they offer carpets with a compass?

given that they do it in the lavatories.... what the hell makes the airline think people will listen given those "private" cabins???

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

As an International pilot on the 777, we have seen it all. The worst offenders are the Asian folks believe it or not. Horny little buggers they are. It isn't the first class folks that are the mile high club members but the slaves back in the coach mostly. As for the A380, I would NEVER fly on that poor excuse of an airplane. Bad wings, bad, landing gear, bad wiring, just to name a few things. They cannot evacuate the airplane in the required time either. Airbus had to get around all the ICAO and FAA rules to get this aircraft certified. It was all political because of the great amount of money invested into by the European governments. The plane also cannot divert into 98% of the airports either if it has a problem. It is a total bust of an airplane.
Now for the 777. What a sweetheart of an aircraft. BTW the only private bunks are the crews!

If the photos on the Boeing website are anything to go by, the 787 is going to be a mile-high club paradise.

The Interior pics from Boeing 787 are from the Nippon Airlines their launch customer. The Asian airlines don't spare any expenses on their Roll Royce first class seats vs Yugo seats at the US airlines. The average seat area costs the Asians are around 50k each vs 21k for the US airlines.

Yeah, I've noticed that. I fly to the far east on business about three times a year (business class, thank God), and I'm always struck by how much nicer the cabins are in the Singapore and Thai airlines planes. For some reason, I always end up flying United on the return leg, and those 747s out of Narita are invariably the oldest, most run-down looking planes I've flown.

Could that be where the term "pilot births" came from?

The reason the Asians are overly represented in "mile high" is that they are the only ones who FIT in those rest rooms!!
