I went to a Ice Hockey game yesterday!!!!!!! COOOOOL

Yesterday was my Birthday..I guess I am getting older, but not wiser

The managers of the place where I am working now took me to a Hockey on Ice game...but first we ate well and drank a few "breooskies"...

That was very cool, I had never seen it, all that ice and the teams, the noise, it was great experience. I was also very cold .....and the manager that works with me knows the manager of the Home team, so they said my name in the speakers, and they wished me happy birthday..I was very touched..all these people looking at me

I also got severely liquid intoxicated....at the game, so only remember the first 30 minutes...

These guys fight funny...they punch each other real fast, and the judges, 4 of them, skate real fast to break them up. Then as fast as it started the fight is over.

They hit the barriers really fast, and the goal keeprs have a lot of attitude.

Overall was very enjoyable, and I wiould like it if I lived here...

However, as I stepped down of my car today, I was buryied in snow to my knees, which reminded me...I don't really want to stay here that long...

Crazy people, these "esquimos"...

Alex

Happy Birthday Giu...

Canadians are not Eskimos...but do have the same weather most of the winter.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I did not know Canadians knew anything about hockey. How long has it been since they had the cup?? Have they hever had it?? I cannot remember.

Anyways, come to Dallas where they have real hockey, made from a zamboni, like it is supposed to be. Where it is 80 degrees outside and frozen inside. If not there, go to colorado or detroit. They are OK too... but not canada. Please!! Trust me.

Happy birthday G!!!! How's your head feel?
By the way, they are called referees. Judges are for ice dancing.

Hockey isn't just for canooks Giu. Whenever we visit our son down in North Carolina, he gets tickets to a Carolina Huricanes game. Those people are huge 'Canes fans - won the Stanley Cup last season:

Happy Birthday Alex - you old salt.

You're right about Canadians being drafted by the best American hockey teams. I suppose it's no different than baseball teams - few of the top players in the Boston Red Sox were drafted from the Dominican Republic

Ahh yes I saw that in the Wild Thing movie was it Major league??, with Charlie Sheen...the Cuban guy with the snake, the voodoo...

That was funny.

Sorry we interrupt this broadcast for an important message from my Canook friend:

He says:

The Stanley Cup winners (whatever that is, that's me saying it), Anaheim Mighty Ducks, which is a US team, has more Canadian players on the team, than its rival the Ottawa Senators, a Canadian team....

So which Country really won..that's him asking you....

USP She's from Hockeytown & not a fan?

Giu, was the game you saw the Canadians getting whipped by the Red Wings? The league leading Red Wings? With the most internationally diverse team? 6 Swedes, a Finn, a few Russians, a Czech, a few Americans & even some Canadians?
