Christmas

Yesterday, I went to the Christmas Festival in Marsh Harbour. Had a fabulous time and spent 12 hours drinking up the island culture. The one thing that really struck me though, that this was a community celibrating the birth of Christ. Nobody hid the fact that this was a Christmas celebration with generic things like "seasons greetings". Quite the opposite in fact. I found this so refreshing given the political correctness cancer we have growing in the US and Canada. I heard that Santas in the US are not allowed to say "Ho, Ho" because some sportscaster refered to a black basketball team as nappy-haired hos and I find that a shame. It's a shame that we take a perfectly good and wholesome word and give more legitimacy to a bastardization of the word. We need to stand up and scream enough is enough. Our counties were founded on Christian principles. It's what has lead us to greatness and if we turn our backs on those principles we will be dragged down into the cesspool of so much of the world. Stand up Canada and USA and keep what is rightfully ours.

It wasn't a sportscaster. It was Don Imus, long-time radio disc jockey, who is often referred to as a "shock jock" but, until he got fired for referring the the Rutgers women's basketball team with the comment you mentioned, his show was more about political issues and current events, with guests that included major media broadcasters and writers, politicians, and historians.

He's now back on the air in New York, on WABC.

Wait a minute...

are you saying that in the US the Santa's not allowed to say HO-HO-HO???

or that's a joke?

Our Santa, which is Pai Natal (or Father Christmas) if translated, does not say HO HO HO, but I know they do that in the US...has it turn into a race thing? Or you're joking?

Please...let me know....

Hey Ebs...good post! If you get the chance...head over to green Turtle/New Plymouth for Junkanoo for more evidence of how nice it is when the small island communities gather to celebrate their traditional holidays.

Well said, ebs

It should be noted that ebs wrote that the nation was founded on Christian principles and not that one had to be a Christian to believe in such principles or to be an American. ebs experience merely highlights the fact that when people believe in nothing, they'll beleive anything. I stole that from Chesterton. The sad fact is that many Americans and Canadians no longer have a sense of national awareness that other, smaller nations still possess in abundance. That national awareness was one that held the US to be a country wrought and supremely blessed by a Creator thus making it a secular nation of divine inspiration. As such, those principles expressed by ebs have been responsible for the tremendous assimilation of masses of other peoples of varying faiths and origins, all welcomed and assimilated equally into a country that knows who she is. Merry Christmas, indeed!

Welcome to the new America G. Only a select few are allowed to excersize their first ammentment right.

I heard they are banning over weight Santa's in Germany. They claim it is a bad example for children.

Merry Christmas everybody!

Unfortunately, the United States isn't well known for having anything close to common-sense about a lot of things... The Ten Commandments are banned from public display in schools and government buildings, yet our money clearly says In God We Trust...

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I wonder when they'll take Moses and the Tablets of the stone over the entrance to the Supreme court?

And on money . . . . . . . seen the latest dollar coin? God is gone.
