Talking A Portuguese redneck in the snow

So here I am in Canada, my last day here, (I hope, if the storm stops tonight).

There is a gigantic storm outside, so I got bored from writing my reports.

I took the Volvo jeep, put it on all wheel drive and went for a ride.

It was amazing, I never saw that. I stepped outside the car, and the snow was to my knee!!!

The car dind't want to move. It made a noise like its chewing something, and vibrates...To me was like being in the ocean in fog, except the fog is solid and wet and hits you in the face, and its very cold.

Pretty impressive. I called all my friends to tell them that. The cars was moving really slow, and steering was erratic. I had a lot of fun. I drove around in the countryside outside here. Then I dis some doughnuts, but this car is bad for that...the Mustang would be fun.

I was almost lost at one time, because you can't see nothing in the front, and the lights don't help. So I just followed the big mountains of snow in the road, to see where I was.

Then I finnaly saw a truck with those things to sweep the snow and followed him.

I drove around some more just enjoying the snow. The air inside the car was 32şC because I was cold and forgot my gloves.

I was having a blast, but I would not live here, this is crazy.

Different experience!! Thank you. I will never forget.

Now confortably drinking some Rye and soon dinner. Tomorrow, if the Weather allows I go home.

CapnHand is on a distinguished road
Giu, The Mustang would not be fun, it would be stuck. Stuck isn't fun. Don't forget your gloves next time. There should be a winter law like for PFD's, one hat and two gloves for every person in the vehicle.

The truck you were following is called a snow plow (rhymes with cow). Don't follow them too close.

Snow is fun for a few days. Living here in winter can be hard but it makes us enjoy summer more, like you will appreciate Portugal more when you're back. I hope that the planes are flying tomorrow and you have a safe trip home.

PS, It's not cold yet, just starting to get cold. February is cold. Don't come here then. June to September are best.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Giu,
Driving in snow can be fun at times, usually when you're out as you were-going nowhere. We usually take the kids out to a big parking lot that's been plowed and is pretty slick, to learn vehicle dynamics. It's a great way to learn skid control and the like, plus it's lots of fun.

Some of the sports car clubs will have an annual event on packed snow. it really rewards a neutral handling car and negates large horsepower advantages. Smaller cars are better in the winter, especially racing, as they develop less inertia. They're also easier to lift off a snow bank when you misjudge your four wheel drift. In the snow, everbody can pretend he's Stirling Moss!
