Giulietta is just really nice Giulietta is just really nice Giulietta is just really nice Giulietta is just really nice Giulietta is just really nice
Arrived home...back in water soon

Hey Bastardos sujos....

I'm back home after a trip from hell.....arrived yesterday.

My flight on Monday, from XXXX in Canada, to Montreal, was supposed to leave at 12:00 pm, did not leave until 2pm!!!!

The Sunday storm had left Air Canada a few (read all) flights back....still on Monday, as I boarded the plane, (one of those Buddy Holly f**K planes), snow flakes pounded my head as I boarded the plane, and threatened me of not flying at all...but thanks to the good spirit and toughness of Air Canada pilots, up we went to Montreal. The ice on the taxi ways made for a very unsusual side tracking moments...I thought the wing tip was going to hit the ground...but no....back on the yellow line it went again...Ballsie pilots, let me tell you...

Arrived Montreal late, off course, my hopes of my connection to New York being delayed were soon gone...in fact that flight was cancelled...so there I was, Monday afternoon in Montreal, without knowing what to do or where to go...the airport packed with people....

So I was told to go on a line to the sales desk of Air Canada, where I was redirected to Lisbon, via London, good thing about first Class tickets...you get to go first in moments like this...a few people that were on the same flight with me didn't get to go till wednesday!!!!

So with new tickets in my pocket...time to try some of the Airport food in Montreal...let me tell you...either I was very hungry or the food was excellent, I had a nice NY steak and a chicken noodle soop, with croissants and butter, and an ice cream..NICE!!!! In the end, a Tim Hortons cup of coffe...I was back in track again....my sadness disappeared..I was going home...

Anyway...at 10:00pm, I was on a flight to London, already late by 3 hours....In London, I would get a connection to Lisbon...(not that easy).

Kudos to Air Canada, can't say I have ever been on time with them, actually, I flew Air Canada 8 times, and never arrived on schedule......and even got a cold in one of the flights, but Hell...

they really care about getting you there (UNLIKE A CERTAIN S**T AIRLINE IN THE US THAT I CAN'T TELL WHAT IT IS BUT RYMES WITH CONTINENTAL)...

Anyway....the flight to London, was very enjoyable, they have beds now...so I slept..the chief cabin guy (I don't know what they are called now), was very funny...he goes on the mic and says...

"good evevning everyone, sorry for the delay, after all this is Air CAnada, and we have a reputation to maintain...we can't read a schedule"...everyone laughed a lot...

He then said:

" our flight today from Montreal to London wil take exactly 6 hours 12 minutes and 32 seconds", but this being Air Canada, we allow an error of 3 hours"....laughs again....

He then said:

" Our flight today, at a speed of 511.345 Miles per hour, will be at an altitude of 38 thousand feet and one inch".....laughs again...

That guy...with his humour made everyone happy and the flight was very pleasant...I really admire the guy...allways with a fun joke, a remark...really impressive professional, that can fee the tension in the plane and turn it around...I was amazed...they will get my business again, not because they are a good airline, (far from it), but because of the nice people they have there....makes a difference....

Anyway...when we arrived in London, and the Pilot turned the fasten seat belts lights off, as everyone stood up the guys goes on the intercom and says:

"AAAAAAALL RISE!!!!" was so funny.....

As I left the plane, there he was appologising for the delay with a smile...incerdible..a professional all around...

So there I was in London....went to the Air Portugal check in...guess what....the nice Air Canada lady that re-directed me, forgot to put me on the Lisbon flight....but there was a seat in a flight 6 hours late...so I waited in the room, had a nice English Breakfast in Heathrow, and at 4 pm, came home....

Really late, really tired, but as I walked outside Lisbon Airport, the sight of Giulietta, Fred and Luis, changed all my bad mood....

Its good to be home, and I am now, writting this, as Fred flies his chopter around the room, Luis sits here with me as I try to type this, and Giulietta went to buy some pastry and cakes to fill my belly...

Its raining a lot, and my boat goes in the water once the rain stops..Monday they say...

So here I am, in my confortable pajama, with my fleec robe on, enjoying a good cup of portuguese expresso...ahhhh the wonders of life....

Today we're taking the kids to the Circus, and we will have some dinner in a frinds restaurant later.

Giulietta gave me (for my birthday), a new cell phone (as my old one I dropped accidentally in the sea last month, the one Val liked so much), that has GPS (TomTom), its a camera, video, Video call, and a PDA and does a lot of things...among them...call people!!! I like Cell phones, but by the time I master them...they drop in the ocean....

I thank God for all He has provided me, and thank my family for being here for me, arms wide open...

I also thank you people, that are my friends, and put up with me while I am away from home on my professional assignments. I know I am pretty stupid sometimes....

Thank you guys, and sorry if I offend you...honestely

Merry Christmas all

Alex

PS, no videos from me for a while...I do them when I work..no work for me till 23rd January

Glad to hear you're back to your own country Alex, in spite of trip delays. Just a few days left to Christrmas, but - you will get to spend them with your loving family, in your beautiful home and on Monday - Christmas Eve, in your beloved boat.

Merry Christmas,
Steve

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Hey Alex,, I guess we were in the same airspace over the Atlantic! I pass an Air Canada jet on the way over to London.. Ummm I wonder if that was you..I arrived 10 mins early and on the same day as scheduled! Must be that Portuguese bad luck again with your travels.. Please don't board my aircraft. I know the troubles you went through in Heathrow to get to your connecting flight. It is the worst airport in the world bar none for connecting passengers from one airline to another.
But I am glad you arrived safe and sound into the arms of your love ones. I know when I say thank you and good-bye to my passengers there are a 246 reasons for their being on my flight. I take that responsibility very seriously.
Merry Christmas and a joyous and Happy New Year to you and your wonderful family.
