Good Resturants in Seattle?

A while ago when I was planning to go out to Boston for a few days I asked about things to see and got a list of great things. Especially some great restaurants. (Sailingdog - the Boston Sail Loft was awesome)

I have to head out to Seattle on Jan 7 and have no idea what places are good to grab some food.

Any suggestions for restaurants?

I try to stay away from Seattle as much as possible. Anthony's on the waterfront is good. Anything on South Lake Union is pricey but great. If ya get to Bellevue, the Mediterranean Kitchen is great. Redmond Town Center for Ruby's if ya want a good burger and HOT!! waitresses in short skirts. There's some good places up here in Mt. Vernon by where I live, about 70 miles North.

I have to ask - why do you try to stay away from Seattle as much as possible?

Anthony's looks like a good seafood place, though the short skirts are always tempting I think the fresh seafood will win over though. I can get short skirts here in the midwest, I can't get good seafood. :P

I always bring a bottle of hot sauce when I go to Seattle. The blandest food you've ever had is in Seattle. No kidding . . . Honestly . . . I bring hot sauce and have no problem with pulling it out in a restaurant.

It’s also a crime what you have to pay to eat up there. I love almost everything else about Seattle.

Aww man... tell me you are kidding retclt...

The one possibly entertaining thing I get to do in Seattle is go out to eat, won't have time for anything else. The seafood is still good right??? Please? :P

Or can I just chalk this one up to you being from Texas and liking the spicy food? (Can you see the pleading in my eyes?)

The Seafood is some of the best in the world . . . . . . but it ends there.

Wait, the Chinese food is really good too . . . but that's it . . . it ends there.

Metropolitan for steak-pricey but worth it. Anthony's at Shilshoal for seafood is usually good. Lot's of trendy places in Pioneer Sq area (near stadiums). South Lake Union by the Wooden Boat Museum has numerous restaurants that are probably all good( haven't been to too many). Chinooks at Fisherman's Terminal is usually good, and there is a mix of rec. and comm. boats there to look at. Across Lake Washington in Kirkland are several restaurants with views of the water and Seattle skyline that are OK, fun( think Carmel of the North). I think there is a restaurant at the Elliot Bay Marina (north of downtown waterfront) that is supposed to be great. Ivar's on Lake Union always had the best salmon grilled over alder wood and a great view of downtown. Haven't been to Vic Franks Hidden Harbor on Lk Union for awhile but it was always good, and lot's of marinas to wander around in. Have a good stay, maybe we'll even have a partially sunny day for you if you are lucky!

I had my fill of city life in Houston and Phoenix. The traffic SUCKS! I can find everything I need without going down into Seattle. It is nice to go down there once or twice a year though. Oh, Hooters is right on the water on S. Lake Union too. My wife and I had a pricey dinner at Chandler's Crab House on the lake right before I bought Oh Joy. great view, atmosphere and food. Peeericey at $150 for a dinner for two. Cool watching all the sailing yachts and having seaplanes fly 50' over your head to land on the lake. This time of year wouldn't be the same though.
