Like others, I started and restarted a few times before being able to know what to say. This sure puts my comparatively trivial problems in perspective. My heart truly goes out to you and I hope for the best for your daughter. A good friend recently went through multiple failed chemo treatments for non hodgkins lymphoma. No one should ever have to go through that. After a bone marrow transplant, he's now OK. I hope a similar technological miracle can occur for your daughter.

Bubb,
Good for you for making your post. Know that there are perfect strangers thinking and praying for your daughter's recovery. Also remember that your daughter will want you to keep your spirits up -- no matter what. If it suits you, please keep us informed of her progress.
Very best wishes,
Sailhog

bubb, responding to this is tough but nothing like what you deal with. Having 8 children, 3 Daughters, I understand a bit. Like the man said, beg, borrow, steal or charter but get in that sail.

Of all the bits of advice I've read on this forum, this is the very best...

Going thru some older posts, he is in the New York area. Depending upon how bad she turns or not etc, someone around there with a boat still in the water?
I got one available on a moments notice in the NW ie Seattle, if you and daughter are out here!

Bubb-
I will keep my fingers crossed for your daughter, and wish her a very speedy and complete recovery. I know what you're going through, having been through much the same with my late wife.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Budd,
My prayers for you and your family. Was the diagnosis based on a bone scan? If so it should be kept in mind that fractures, inflamation from spine trauma ie coccyx or sacral contusion from her fall can light up on a bone scan as well. I understand if you would not comment but check with your daughter and her physician on this if indicated.
All the best and my wish for better days for you and your daughter.

When I was 20 and away from home at college I was diagnosed with Hodgekins disease just before Christmas. I lucked out...I was in very bad shape blood wise but it was not cancer...scared me...never been scared since. I pray your daughter can tell her story when she reaches 59 too. Our prayers are with you!
