I can't imagine what you're going through. I lost my mother to breast cancer many years ago. My two sons (20 & 15) are my pride and joy...I couldn't imagine the pain.
Your daughter has the best weapons against this though...youth and the strength and support of her family.
We're all pulling for her!

I wish to thank all of you who sent your best wishes and your prayers for my daughter. A special thanks goes out to Giu, he knows why. This has meant so much to my daughter and myself.

I am writing this post sitting in Courtney"s apartment in Chicago. I have been out here for a week with my daughter. She has been undergoing daily radiation treatments with all the side affects.

The latest bone scan shows the entire spine and left side of her scull is involved.

I don't mean to be a downer but it is cathartic for me to post here and just "get it out."

My daughter, Courtney, says "Dad, send them my love". so I have.

Please tell me if my updates are inappropriate. As I do realize this is not a subject for a sailing board.

Again, my freinds I want to thank you all.

Bubb,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughter. Please do continue to keep us posted, this is not so "off-topic". My MIL, and many others, have fought cancer and won, I wish Courtney the same success.

Mike

(Sailnet meet-up at The Billy Goat on Navy Pier, Friday, Feb. 1 starting at 5:00. Consider this a special invite, it would be nice to convey best wishes in person if it's possible.)

Bubb2,

This is a very difficult stage in your daughter's treatment. Now is the time for STRENGTH AND COURAGE. Please tell Courtney that we will NEVER give up on her. You mustn't either, and neither should she. We are altogether with you.

We look forward to hearing news of a long easy reach -- there and back -- on a sky-blue day, driven by a warm fair breeze, with Courtney -- in all her windswept glory and youthful splendor -- guiding the helm.

If you could come to BC Canada where the weather is better you are welcome to our boat for as long as you need it. We wish you all the best.
