Thumbs up Pacific Northwest get together.

Since there's quite a few posters from this area, how about we plan something for the future? I currently sail out of Skyline Marina by Anacortes and would love to hook up with some of the Sailnetters in the area.

grand idea; the trouble will be finding a weather window longer than 6 hours for folks to get together. i'm new to victoria, and surprised at the way one system just follows another, and that it's always blowing. seems every second day they publish a wind warning. i'm not sure what time of year it starts to break up around here...

Good idea, Charlie... probably best to try to set this up in advance, and pick a long weekend in the summer to allow some travel time.

Also need to decide if you want to do this cross-border, or do you want to do a Puget Sound thing... Seems to me that if it's set up in advance in a central spot like Roche, Montague or Bedwell harbours, you'd get good participation from US and Canadian members. (if that's what you want....)

Yeah, I was thinking Roche Harbor so our friends from the Great White North could join us. We all have to suffer this weather together. The weather usually starts to break in June. If it's an El Nino year, the weather can be good year round.

blt2ski will become famous soon enough
For what it is worth, I also belong to an email group NW group, They meet about 3-4 times a yr. Most in puget sound, but some that meet in the portland area too. find at sailcascadia.org

I would be up for something, I think I could get to something up there ie roche. That is about a 2 day to one long day from edmonds. Went form pender, thru roche for customs, and to edmonds at teh end of june in one LONG day motoring, as there was no wind except crossing the straight to PT, then smooth the rest of the way home along with smooth to the south end of SJ Is thru haro st. My rig does not move fast, about 5.5-6 knots, can push to HS at 6.7 or there abouts at times.

I should be at pender the last weekend in June for the Jeanneau owners rendezvous. At least that is the hope. May do two days up thru laconner, and hopefully a couple of days home again. End of the month is hard for spouse to get away as an escrow agent, more home loan closing during that time!
