American spy requests asylum to Portugal!!! what???

Yes, I am reading it now, as we spaek...

An American citizen, requested political asylum to Portugal...

He claims to have worked for CIA and NSA and they are after him now...

The request has, so far been denied...

what do you guys know about this??

He claims to have worked in something named Echelon.

He claims to be called Kennet Alan Turing, but has a Passport with the name of Daniel Bates Jeffee. He said he's still alive because he knows secrets about a certain George Tenant and George Bush, (father).

He said he worked in Curdistan and Kuwait.

What gives there??

Echelon, IIRC, is an NSA information/electronic intelligence gathering program. It is probably still mostly classified, and much of what it does would be illegal if aimed at domestic communications. Here are a few links about it...how accurate they are is up for debate. LINK1, LINK2, LINK3

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Giu -- I know some people who work for NSA, both employees and contractors. In fact, the owner of the boat across from me in the marina works for NSA. (Although he is old school and told me he works at "Ft. Meade" which is an army base home to the main campus of NSA. When he said that about Ft. Meade, I shot back "So what part of NSA do you work for?" He laughed.)

I'll check this guy out to see if he has a sailing background and might be good crew for you. Otherwise, he sounds like sort of a kook.

George Tenant is a former director of the CIA, and one of the major architects of corrupting/cherry picking/twisting the intelligence reports about Saddam and his WMD's.

I remember seeing echelon on 60 minutes. That was decades ago.. whatever they got now is going to be many times more sinister. While I was in the service getting my warfare qual, I asked one of the guys what was behind a door. He said "If I let you in there your eyes will burn." I bet this guys soul is burning... poor SOB. Get into a position like that and you will never have your freedom back until you die.

He probably wokred for one of the many NSA black operations posts. One of my sailing friends heads one of the "PUBLIC" departments of NSA at Ft Meade, Maryland, I will ask him.

As a side note try and get the spy to pull his mask of...maybe its Donald Rumsfeld seeking assylum there.

Chef -- If your NSA pal doesn't spill the beans, give me a call and we can go water-board him!

Turing was more than a code-breaker - he can also be considered the father of AI (look up the "Turing Test"). I seriously doubt the gent who is the subject of this thread worked both with Turing (UK) and on Echelon. Alan Turing died in 1954, and echolon came much, much later....

Political crap throwing, like monkeys at the zoo.
Does anyone really think that anyone with real intel, who was really in that deep would go to Portugal for help? Nothing against Portugal Alex, but it would not make my top 10 list for this kind of thing.

first, there was "Raptor", Then "Omnivore" & "Carnivore" (all FBI-NSA, Reno changed the name to make it "kinder" LOL) Then "Echelon", now DCS100(or DCS1000)
They're TCP-IP packet capture hw/sw solutions.
Magic Lantern is a remotely installed Keylogger (reportedy made by eBlaster for the FBI)
A company I used to work for (for many moons) used to sell product to....
"An Agency of the Federal Govenment"
P.O. Box whatever it was
Langley, Va."

We all thought that soooo funny. If you'd like the laugh of the day, look up the "Central inellegence Agency" in your local white pages, dial the number. The person answering will say "hello, this is xxx-xxx-xxxx" not the name of the agency.. I mean, for pity sake, its listed in the damn white pages, and they won't say the name. gotta love it.
