Life without boating

We can't all be warm weather year-round boaters. In Maine my boat is on the hard nearly seven months a year. Even with working on the boat, dreaming of boating and talking about boating, it leaves a lot of time to fill with other activities. So what does everyone like to do to feed the tiger?

Currently I'm packing my bags and heading for Mt. Washington in New Hampshire's presidential range for a two day course on avalanches. Then I'm taking Monday off to do some backcountry tele-skiing while I'm there.

I'm going snowboarding Sunday with some friends. Enjoy skiing also. Have a good trip. Ever been to Tuckerman Ravine?

Tuckerman's Ravine is exactly where I'm going for the class. I go there a handful of times during the winter but I go to some of the other bowls more often, like the Gulf of Slides. There are a lot of tracks to be had on that hill. Have a fun weekend shredding.

Soulesailor,
I don't know how you guys do it up there. The summer sailing must be spectacular in Maine, and then you've got to give it all up... brutal...

Snowmobiling and skiing here... but giving up the sailing is tough... we're going up to visit Pelican tomorrow.

Not much snow down here in NYC so no skiing/boarding activities going on unless it is a skateboard (which is just not me). I am filling the time with day dreaming about sailing on my boat, on other peoples boats, planning upgrades to my boat and other peoples boats, and sometimes a little finishing carpentry.
I guess I will have to drive up north where there is snow to go skiing.

Thought so. I'll be in the Catskills. Windham. PEACE.
