For more on the lunacy that is the Canadian Human Rights Commisions look up the thread in this forum called "More Canadian Craziness". It was less than wildly popular, but then the really important news isn't always on page one.

I think it's pretty funny that the same people who cry that the Bush dictatorship is creating a 1984 world are in fact creating it themselves with thought crimes. What's next, face crimes? If I frown at someone of any race/gender/orientation will i get to answer questions from that lady? What's worse, ultra-liberal or neo-con? Both.

I don't see any Muslim nations cracking down on flag burning, political figure effigy burning, or even suicide bomber training camps. They are actually promoting and supporting those things. We all know that the USA has its issues, but WTF is going on in Canada?

Is Mein Kampf available at Barnes and Nobles (or equivalent) in Canada? I don't in any way support those ideas in that book, but burning books is burning books (or cartoons in Levants case).

Crap, I just got myself into it.

But, thats not Canada, thats Alberta. While technically part of Canada, they have their own way of thinking. Sort of like a Canadian Texas.

Steyn doesn't want to be declared innocent, he wants the whole HRC tossed out on it's ear, and rightly so. What's particularly egregious is that the plaintiffs are able to file their case at no cost while the defense must hire attorneys to defend themselves against such claptrap.

Sailaway: This is sweet - one of the people who filed the complaint to the HRC against Levant, Syed Soharwardy, is now the subject of his own complaint. It appears several women from his mosque have filed a complaint saying they suffered discrimination from Soharwardy. The complaint was filed to the Canadian, not the Alberta, HRC. Whether or not one believes such kangaroo courts should exist, enjoy the irony.
