Rep Points, Etc

Please review the Off Topic disclaimer above. I have made an addition I would like to ask each member abide by. In essence, please refrain from giving positive OR negative reps based upon any information given in off topic. The system is meant as a measure of reputation for sailing related topics, not AFOC, republican or democrat, the US/global economy... or any of the other many topics discussed here in this forum.

Also, anyone posting a threatening/innapropriate comment (whether openly in a thread, in a PM, or in a REP) will be dealt with severly. Just because we as MODS cannot see who gave the rep (at the moment, that is), does not mean the admin cannot. It will be forwarded to the admin, you will be banned, and if there is/should be any legal action taken, it will be.

The internet is not as anonymous as it might seem. Your IP leaves a trace and we can track it back to the point of origin. We have those tools right now.

Hope that is crystal clear, everyone. I have NO tolerance for that kind of stuff. No one else should have to either. Be transparent in your actions and thoughtful in your responses. We are all friends here.

Great post CD!. It would be even better if you had the administrative ability to prevent rep points being given for Off Topics posts. Can that be done?

te...the admin and management are looking at the whole rep system and what can/should be done. Will keep you posted as we get answers. The poll results and the ideas in the poll thread are all helpful to that process.

Thanks. In reading the responses to the poll it's obvious we all look forward to some change in the system however it is deemed best to do it.
