A Sailnet Valentine
As I sat watching nature's light show in the wee hours of the morning, it reminded me of how powerless man can be. Not in a helpless way, simply that there are forces beyond our control
Then I logged on Sailnet, and found myself thinking what a wonderful resource this is. Not just for the help we can find, but the words of encourgement to those starting out, the outpouring of prayers and good wishes for those facing troubles, and for the camaraderie in the good-natured humor and kidding.
From the exuberant Portagee to the wascally Wombat, and all in between, it's a collection of characters that share a love of all things nautical. It's been my good fortune to meet many of you. People as real, warm and friendly as you present yourselves right here. While it may be a virtual community, as the get-toethers that have started happening continue, it becomes more and more real.
Sure, it's not perfect. Like all families, there's squabbles, disagreements, and misunderstanding, but nothing that the good-naturedness of most here, can't handle.
So thank you Sailnet for giving us this forum, and thanks to all of you who make it the vibrant and worthwhile place it is.
