Where can I post a video with quality?
I am really tired of Youtube...
The videos I shoot with my camera are really nice and clear, but when I put them on youtube, they come out as if they were filmed thru the butt of a cow...
where/how can I post a video that will maintain the quality? Any ideas?
Please understand I am computer iliterate, so explain it easy in wordsa
I understand..
no bauds, bytes, bites and other fancy computer talk please...it blocks me and then I don't do it..
Just explain it for a dumb idiot like myself to understand.
Also please it has to be a place where I can copy and paste the embeded, so I can put them here, ok??
Please help, thank you
Alex

The only good way to do post high-quality video is to have your own server or a friend's that has the bandwidth and space to do so.
If you can put them in .mov or Quicktime format, then you may have some other options...
PM me if you're serious about this.

I post my demo reel on my website, hosted at Go Daddy.
You will need to spend about $10/year for a domain name and about $50/year for server space.
You can design a website and put all your videos on that website.
Biggest thing to watch out for is bandwidth limits. You will only get so many views of your videos for the $50. Over that is extra cost. Talk to the hosting company about the limits. I suspect you'll need more than what the $50/year will buy.
Most hosting companies will automatically charge you when you go over your monthly limit. You might search around to see if there are any that will just cut off the videos when the prepaid limit is reached.

Dog
The 50/yr give you 300G, 100/yr gives you 1500Gigs, and 200/yr gives you 3000 gigs. And disc storage increases with both plans also.

Bandwidth is like the butt of a cow.
Did you get this resolved? Even if you create your own website and post high quality videos, the problem then becomes viewing them. Bandwidth IS like a butt of a cow, if I may steal your analogy. The more **** you try to push through it, the slower it will be, like the cow is constipated. You may be able to upload a great video to your website, but in order for others to view it properly and quickly, they will need the bandwidth and a good computer to view it. Otherwise it will take too long to download and the video will be choppy. That is why videos are still being sold on DVD, most people aren't set up for getting them over the internet, although progress is being made. It is worth the try. Your videos may be small enough.

Alex, you might be better off posting your videos on YouSendIt.com or some other file sharing service (that is free). Interested people can then download them and view them at the intended resolution/quality. YouTube.com quality is poor because they are not only serving multiple downloads of the more popular videos at the same time, but if you do not have great bandwidth, the videos are going to "stream" in a choppy fashion.
I can't remember if you have high-speed internet access at your house...there are different types and different configurations. I have what's called 3 Meg aDSL, which means I can listen to relatively high quality radio streams from Internet radio "stations" and download big files at the same time.
Anyway, probably your best option is to upload the files to both YouTube and to a file sharing service, so that the "high resolution version" is also available. That way, it is easy to put them all on a single DVD and boom! you have "The Portuguese Way of Sailing" in one volume.

I think this is the best solution:
you want to see the embeded version? choppy quality.
you want to see it right? you download it.
It will take some years before we can see videos online with DVD quality.

Youtube is low quality, Yousendit would be high quality. But you could do much better than Youtube with streaming web video. So how good is good enough for Alex's videos?
