Would that be who won the debate, or who pandered best?

It was a tie from what I saw. No harm, no foul. Hillary tried hard to make up a controversy but she couldn't do it. I turned it on late and it ended early -- so much for drama.

PB -- ALL politicians pander no matter which side of the aisle they are on. We all know that!

Know thy enemy!

From a disinterested republicans viewpoint...I came away with the conclusion that neither won, though the Texas U crowd was certainly stacked on Obamas side from the applause. Obama came across as cool and detached and never looked at Hillary which was kind of strange. She needed a win here IMHO..but didn't get it and closed with "no matter how this turns out we will be OK" ...almost like she is preparing to lose and close ranks rather than fight to the finish.

Indeed. You notice I didn't say: "Hey everyone who do you think won the debate last night?"

I'm just curious who the Manchurian Candidate will be up against in November. Either way, I have long planned to be deep in the South Pacific for most of the next presidential term no matter who gets elected. It would have been nice though to have a Prez who has some respect for the Constitution. Alas we will probably never see that again.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not one of those spoil sports who say they will leave the country if so and so gets elected. I've been planning this for years and no matter who #44 is, I will always be proud to be an American.

"Never looked at Hillary"! Maybe he didn't want to get indigestion.

Mitch - I realize that, the broader point was there is rarely any actual debate going on, just pandering. And usually pre-scripted at that.

Agreed. The candidates, especially by now, have their canned answers ready to go. Watching any of the debates is sort of like watching a NASCAR race -- you're just hoping for a big crash.

It's also very tiring to hear them go after the same things -- Hillary on Barack's "plagiarism" and then the discussion of the really minute differences in their health care plans -- which we can't afford right now anyway (at least not as long as we are spending billions a month in Iraq.)
