Seattle - Afternoon BBQ MAR 22 RSVP
Mar 22 (a Saturday) - was wondering if those in the Seattle area here on Sailnet would care to be invited to a BBQ at my home in West Seattle (I can park up to 20-25 cars in my driveway here so it can be a large gathering)... Nothing prim and proper just a great way to connect before the sailing season.... (AFOC membership not required)...
Will stipulate it is a BYOB (If you drink as much as me - I do not need to go further in debt on that vice) but food will be provided ( I never throw a party expecting guests to bring food)... so bring yourself, wife, spouse, friend, etc...(However I do ask that no young (less than 6yrs old) children as I my home is not necessarily child friendly)....must be ok with dogs obviously.. ideal start time 2 in the afternoon
Three BBQ stations, pool table hot tub, bar and a great view....
If interested respond here or send me a pm... A volunteer to co-host would be great as well... but not necessary....
Please indicate your interest in this thread or PM... Just think it would be a nice way to kinda put faces to names and get to know our Seattle community a bit better...
For those coming out of the immediate Seattle area (Bellingham, Everret, the islands and the likes - I can offer overnite stay for about 10 people with some reasonable privacy... more if doing it college style (whatever that is)...(just do not expect me to provide breakfast and please annotate that it may be a possibility and if you end up being to drunk to drive - it will be a probable as there is no sense in it...)
Week or two prior I will email out phone number directions and other pertinent data that will ensure you arrive and leave in a manner that best suites your needs...Look forward to having you here!!
Thanks
Jody

Thanks for the invite. Would love to, but my son and I are going to Phoenix that weekend to visit the Grandparents. I may be up there this summer, if I am I will let you know.

Thanks for the invite Jody... it's a bit far for some of us though... should be a good thing for the PNW crowd though. BTW, what are the names of the bassett beasties.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Lucky is the one standing tall - he has actually been featured in a Microsoft promotion at one time - DeForest is the one laying down (on the avatar)...I used to have Deforest's two other brothers - whom were aptly named Humphrey and Bogart - Humphrey Deforest Bogart (his full name)....Both are rescues...

Seattle is a lost city and you have to take the bus from somewhere going to nowhere from Berkeley

It should also be noted, west seattle is in the area of no where! IE far from everywhere. Over a hill and thru the woods to great grandmas house we would go! Not sure where the house was any more, but somewhere far from everywhere it was!
An airstream park would be ok too.
Will have to see how things go. Just be carefull of tenuki shows up, he is/has quite the onry kid, or at least rumour has it that way!

That would explain the excessive amount of parking spaces...
