What Beer Did You Drink In College ?

I went to college in upstate New York. We drank Old Bohemian Beer. It was cheap if I recall $2.66 a case of 24 bottles. What I didn't know was that it was made in Hew Jersey.

So what was your college beer ?

Thank you Free, this thread already gave me a chuckle after I thought about it.

In college (30+ years ago) I drank cheep beer it was all I could afford. Cooks, Hootapul(get moody with hooty) Drewys, and many others.

Today, when I go to the store to buy beer 9 times out of 10, I buy whats on sale. Not much has changed!

While in college, I had an apartment in town with a friend and had parties most every night. Heineken was typically our choice, either by the case or the keg, still drink the stuff when cans are the only choice (when offshore).

Otherwise, I now mostly choose ales by Sam Adams, Harpoon, Red Hook, or Pete's Wicked. Unfortunately, these breweries didn't materialize until the late 80's - long after college, during the micro-brew renaissance.

College beer

When I was in college in the late 60s, Budweiser and Schlitz were duking it out for #1 in sales (how times have changed). I was in the Schlitz camp ... God knows why at this point. When we were really pinched, we could get Grain Belt for $2.29 a 12-pack. There was also a lot of really terrible Mexican pot around, but I don't remember what that cost. :-/

I should have added what was your favorite pizza places to the beer you drank. I almost lived on the stuff.

My buddies and I rented a house, first thing we did was bought an old refrigerator and installed a tap in it. We had ice cold Schlitz on tap at all times. Now when I think of it, no wonder why I don't remember much about my four years in college.
