I don't understand who they think they are fooling with those kinda emails... except for perhaps themselves. No joke... one time i decided to reply to "Mr. Royal So and So"... i said something to the effect of: ARE YOU F*%king KIDDING ME??? DO YOU THINK ANYONE EVER FALLS FOR THIS CRAP?".... they replied with... "Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to doing business with you." or something like that.

I once had the Nigerian scam tried on me. I went along right up to the moment I got the bogus cashiers check (which I gave my bank and they gave to the authorities). When they e-mailed about their money and the sad story of their dying daughter, I replied I hoped the doctor was more real than the check. That was the last I heard from them.

Many people do fall for these though. Especially older people, who tend to be a bit more naive and trusting in these situations. Dollar signs can be a powerful incentive.

I saw a show once on these scams,20/20 or 60 Minutes. It's amazing how many otherwise normal people actually fall for them. Sad too.

You would be amazed at the number of police reports I used to take on these and similar scams...people are sometimes desperate to believe that this will be their one lucky shot.

Some dillweed called me saying i was randomly chosen to win $60,000. he then stated that inorder to recieve the $60k he would need a $300 deposit. I told him if he would pay the deposit i would split the $60k with him. then the ungrateful S.O.B. hung up on me.

I received an airmail letter from Nigeria a week after 9/11. Kind of freaked me a bit. I put it into a ziplock and called the fbi. "Not interested, throw it away."
