Over one recent 18-month period, Air Force and Navy personnel used government-funded credit cards to charge
at least $102,400 on admission to entertainment events, $48,250 on gambling, $69,300 on cruises, and $73,950 on
exotic dance clubs and prostitutes.
• Congress recently spent $2.4 billion on 10 new jets that the Pentagon insists it does not need and will not use.
• Lawmakers diverted $13 million from Hurricane Katrina relief spending to build a museum celebrating the Army
Corps of Engineers—the agency partially responsible for the failed levees that flooded New Orleans.
• Fraud related to Hurricane Katrina spending is estimated to top $2 billion. In addition, debit cards provided to
hurricane victims were used to pay for Caribbean vacations, NFL tickets, Dom Perignon champagne, “Girls Gone
Wild” videos, and at least one sex change operation.

Some former washington people i work with have told me horror stories. doesnt mention everything such as the secret paradise in the philippines that only pilots or air travel to the jungle can secretly get into. Sadly the list goes on.

Geez Sway, where the heck do you start? I guess I'll go with the part that pertains to my job, the health care. I would guess that 75% of the people we take to the hospital do not have insurance, or tell us that medi-cal is their insurance. I am not surprised to see the numbers going up. Most of the lower income and homeless use the emergency room for their regular check ups. This leads to insurance companies raising rates to compensate for hospitals raising rates because they pay for most of the procedures on the uninsured out of pocket. For every homeless or uninsured we take to the hospital, the Government pays the City's general fund $67. The going rate for the ride for you and I, is $800. In some States, insurance will not cover the ambulance and fire engine, you have to pay that out of pocket.


I think I'll go watch some dancing fountains and zone out.....
