Perfect (off-ewater) day....

Well, I don't often post personal off-topic stuff, but damn; I jst had about the best day away from the water I could hope for ...... this time of year.

I had to assist my son with taking his car to the dealership an hour and a a half away, expecting it to take all day; so, I took the day off from work.

Low and behold it's not as complex as expected; and I'm home by 10:30 am. ( how often does THAT happen?)

I surf the net a little bit, and go off for a leasurely lunch at the local pizza parlor; read acouple of newspapers, have a couple of beers, yada yada yada.

I come home, check my work email; and there is NOTHING requiring my attention!!!!

SO; I make a pitcure of margharitas (ok TWO; and yes that explains the spelling) and watch one of my very favorite movies: Master & Commander - Far Side of The World

Get this .......... without ONE interruption!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Now I don;t expect everyone to get the significance of this fact; but I have two teenage children; one young adult child; and two grandchildren.

This may be the first movie I've seen beginning to end in 5 or 6 years!!!!

Now, if the admiral comes home in a good mood ................ and the kids stay lost ...................

this day COULD be a hat-trick.............. !!!!!

Like I said, I don't generally make the forums my personal blog, but if a meteor landed in YOUR back yard............

Ajari,
First off, congrats on a great "unsupervised" day!

Second. This may come as news to you, but some people get sick even when they're not sick! Like a lot of baseball fans seem to do on opening day. The trick to doing so is being able to realize you are sick AFTER your wife has departed the domestic premises.

Third. You're by now perhaps noticing that you enjoyed your single day off probably more than any day of any vacation you've taken in some time. this means that you need to develop the ability to secretly schedule these emergencies better in the future!
