More of the wages of multiculturalism

The ranks of the "offended" grow steadily. In this particular case, reading in public is the putative offense. It's easy to say, "much ado about nothing" but it should be borne in mind that this gentleman could have lost his job over the incident.

You're certainly correct there, Giu.

These are no doubt the same people who find Huckleberry Finn objectionable.

Actually, what is most offensive, is most "victims" aren't even aware of what they are offended by, other than rote responses.

If the guy had been reading the Protocols of the Elder's of Zion he'd have probably been fine. (g)

That case is un-F-ing beleivable! Some people are just too stupid for their own good. We really need to quit getting in the way of natural selection.

I do love the irony of the book being published by Loyola Press.

T34C,
I know what you mean but, it is quite believable and the only way out is a concerted effort on each individual's part to reject not only multiculturalism but the entire PC framework we've erected. We're unlikely to lose our liberty from government fiat, we'll do it in a much more insidious way. We'll do it by respecting the feelings of each and every individual to the exclusion of traditional western culture. And then we'll be on the path of Yurrup and Canada.

Let me on a little story I have never told before...

One day, in one of my trips to the US, I arrived at my work place and as ususal I have to sit thru a "safety" video, that really if I were American I would be very offended if they showed me that, such is the basic knoweldge and the priciple that people are naturally stupid...anyway...

After the safety video, made for morons, by morons, I was taken to a room, where a HR staff diligentely made me read out loud and sign, a Company's "code of Ethics and behaviour" document that simply said:

No racist remarks
No religious remarks
No sexual content remarks
No sports remarks
No ethnic remarks
No stealing
No drinking alchool
No drugs
No guns
No this
No that...

I looked at the lady in the eyes, and asked her, why would she think I would do any of that? I was there to fix their problem, not discuss OJ Simpsons trial....

She said its corporate policy, because the company lost money every time an employee made a complaint about another one...bla bla bla...

So I asked her...do you kn ow that in my country, making me read and abide by such a document is in it self a reason for me to complain about the company??

she was surprized that their "clean policy" was in fact a violation of common european rules, if it was given to someone visiting one of our plants....

We both knew that I was going to obey, as requested, becuse in "Rome, do like the Romans"...and because I am a visitor, being paid by them is beyhond the point.

But so that you see, that to me the simple fact I had to be told what to do and behave is seen as a violation of my own rights....

sck5 is on a distinguished road
multiculturalism? Not sure where that comes in here. More like garden variety idiocy together with rank ignorance.
