What kind of music...

does everyone listen to? I've always thought that music is a great way to know a little bit about someone, so I'm curious about what everyone listens to here.

I, personally, listen to:
Opera, Jazz, Classical, Techno, Classic Rock, Punk, Sea Shanties, Ska, Folk, Blues, Sourh African Music, Latin, and some others I can't think of at the moment.

All our vehicles

All our cars are programed to either Christian Rock or Country music..as are all my kids Ipods.. However out in the boat I prefer music with no words...and we all really enjoy peruvian pan flute type music...it just seems so nautical and peaceful to us almost like whales singing or gypsies on the sea feeling.

Classical is ok if... full, deep and heavy... but I dont like the stuff that fades in and out and crashes all the time..

Cant stand and dont even alow( yes autocratic I know..so what ) my kids to listen to Rap or Heavy metal...

I actually like some punk beats to dance or listen to..just not the words ( my youngest daughter is a drummer and punk beats are cool )

Really like a good Raggie sound also as well as bluegrass...

Don't like Jazz ...Hurbie Mann plays a mean flute though..

I Can appreciate a good Blues piano player as much as a good honky tonk player...but a little goes a long way in a hurry..

Edit: OH... I have heard some awesome African music in some little shop in Sidney BC..I lost the website address to order it so Alex if you have some favorites I would be interested...It was very beautiful..

Ladysmith Black Mambazo is really good as far african music goes. They are a choir and they're really the most widely known african group as far as I know. I pretty much did a basic search on google and youtube when I first started listening to them, I suggest you do the same and find something you like. The drum beats of some groups are a sharp contrast to the mellow voices of others and it takes some looking into to find something you really like.

Everyone has his own taste. This is a sacred rule. But I could not stand practically no music on my boat while sailing. Even less pop.

Music is my favourite thing in the world (I play piano and guitarr and almost took it as my profession) but still when I'm sailing my favourite sound is that of the waves and the wind.

Only once in a while, provided there is almost no wind and there are no waves at all I indulge into something like this.

BTW, Giulietta: How did you embed youtube movies in your post?

Harvester - I can tell you that you can't do it using Internet Explorer. I use Firefox to embed with, by pasting the embed code from the video in the post.
