The KNOCKROACH

As you all know, when I go sailing it is normally 60 knots wind..and the seas are around 300 feet, on each side...

I don't reef unless its blowing 200 knots...

So I get about 2 or 3 Knockroaches every time I go sailing...it gives me experience...as the gurus wrote in 1845...

Please, can I have your stories on knockroaches??? Animalia included if possible.

When I'm in those conditions I hoist my pipeline screecher. It's a custom designed sail I found laying on the ground next to a tall pole at the airport. I get my Cal 21 right in the curl of one of those 75 footers, any bigger than that I fly the chute, and then I cue up "Endless Summer" on the stereo and watch for lake trout in the curl. That's sailin'.

I've got a friend who's a Tartan sailor and he says he does much the same. He says it's the best way to give your sheep a washdown also. You gotta tether 'em though in case you wipe out.
