Ironic that former liberals are always conservatism's best apologists. The most well thought out column I've read in a year, excusing the profanity.

I've actually purchased two copies of the Village Voice in my lifetime. and I didn't even have fish to wrap! I'll read some of their stuff, as I will The Nation, but I won't contribute money to do so. In this case, I found it on Drudge.

So basically Mamet reviewed his prejudices and changed his mind. Good for him. I hope, however, that he hasn't simply adapted a fresh set of prejudices. In my experience, doctrinaire, uncritical thinking is found like bands of darkness in the political spectrum at most points, and is exactly how politics mirrors religion.
