SMS services

Has anyone used any of the online SMS services for sending text messages to cell phones? I am trying to find a way to send notices to our sailing club members such as race cancellations, etc and this seems like the best way to get the message to everyone. If anybody has a specific service they have had good luck with, please let me know. Any other options for mass notification are welcome too.

You can set the members up as email addresses in your favorite email client. You'd need to know their carrier, though. For example, a Sprint subscriber would be 2125551212@messaging.sprintpcs.com. Verizon Wireless users would be reached by 2125551212@vtext.com. Once you have their SMS emails set up, just create a group of these users to mail your notices to.
