Interesting, yes. But Al Gore can't win it, either. His arc has pretty much peaked. The Democrats have, thankfully, self destructed early.
IF they had gotten a good strong candidate, they could have run Obama as VP and that would have worked all around.
But they let Clinton dictate to them that SHE was going to be the candidate.
She's trailing smoke from both engines, and the Republicans haven't even had to lock and load yet. Her own Democratic competition, and the liberal media, have done her in. There are still a lot of skeletons in that closet before election day. And everybody knows it. You can bet the Republicans have a real good idea what went on during the Clinton ascendency, from Arkansas on. They may not even have to use it.
And what will shake out is that McCain is solid, pretty much a known quantity, a leader, a survivor, and let's face it, we could do ( and have done) a lot worse. There are going to be a lot of crossovers among the more sensible Democrats. Some of them are very intelligent, actually. I am sure they wished with all their hearts that Hillary or Obama would work out to be the answer, but they aren't, and it's obvious.
Americans are not that stupid. The liberal media like to run their own pep rally, and would have us believe that Americans would choose ANY Democrat after George Bush. The country will realize that the Bush years are over. It's not a question of having to vote Democratic ticket to choose someone OVER George Bush. The question is who to choose AFTER George Bush. That's all the Republicans need to stress.
