People I admire....

1. G... for a non native English speaking person... when you have a serious question he gives his best serious answer (and usually not with a photochop answer)... On my current purchase that is in order.. he had great negative and positive advice...

2. Cam - he is a bit of a wild child - he has his own rules but he doesn't actually hold things against one... he does what he can and he is direct and honest... That I have respect for...May not like.. but I can respect..and like him for it actually...

3. Jeff... if it wasn't actually for Jeff I would go for my stupid ideas.. I know after our last PM you thought I was the father of G's last dock mate.... I do think I have a viable idea but I also prefer to actually sail...If I didn't say so - your are as arrogant as I am and I respect that as well...and yeah you were kinda right ... but I didn't say such... pm me for the patent number (bawhahaaa )

4. Sail, Hog, Cuban (or under chains of)... there are amyraid of you folks that makes coming online a adventure... I do not agree all the time I PM but everyone has just been ok with it... so a special place.. won't tell where because I promised G the special place was for good sheep... you understand yes?

5. People I met... and will sail with.. been supportive - understanding, and most of all - as down to earth as I try to be..

For everyone else - unless you are giving me neg reps - I'll sail with you any day(Charlie your one and appreciate you friendship)../....but if you elude to sinking me .... hmmm with those not so positive wake me up in the morning things... I dunno... might have to think over three lattes..

Seriously my time on Sailnet - talking with SD, CAM, CD, Charlie, BLT etc.. (and heck a old flame she found me here)... Just wanna be mushy for 15 seconds (your reading comprehension I assure you)...)... everyone here is top notch even if I do not mention you by name...

Thanks for letting me part of this community and welcoming not because but more of why not??

Thanks everyone for the advice and the friendships offered - it is appreciated!

But- Not, me.... I ugly and usually dumb......who are YOUR heroes here online...

Art,
I want to respond but there are so many good people here you don't want to offend anyone by omission. Here goes anyway:
Gotta go also with Giu and SD. The time they invest to help us all out is mind boggling. Hell, the other day I sneezed and got a PM from SD saying "Bless you". He's here all the time. I love their sense of humor also.
Gotta go also with Cam and SD for much the same reason. I'm sure the unpaid job of Moderator is one royal pain in the ass that none of us would willingly take on.
Speaking of that I also gotta go with all the A---holes that show up now and then. Think how dull it would be without the responses to their posts.
There, I've done it.

There are just too many folks out there who give freely and honestly of their time and considerable knowledge of things nautical to straighten out us newbies and neophytes.
I'm not going to thank any of you individually you know who you are and what you do, and you know I'm talking about you because you feel the warm feeling in you heart knowing you've helped.
It cheers my soul when I see you all dig in and research an answer to the 15th iteration of the same question you answered just last week - and not hammer the poor guy for not searching for the answer himself. I wish I had that kind of patience.

Now in the off topic threads that's a different story. There everyone that doesn't agree with me is a knuckle headed, ignorant, unlettered and unprincipled savage. I appreciate the folks there as much or more than the ones who give sailing and systems advice, albeit for a completely different reason.
In off topic you put your opinion and beliefs on the line and your heart on your sleeve knowing full well that someone is going to come along and take a piece of you. For the 'regulars' (not the one time an skip folks) that takes guts. I admire the folks that take a off the beaten path approach and stick to it despite being in the minority.

I'll be around a while, not one of you I wouldn't go sailing with, especially the ones I argue with. What good is a conversation if everyone agrees?

I don't know about the sneezing/bless you part - but in the AFOC thread there might be some wiping going on.

CKDK08 is on a distinguished road
Being a realitive newbie after only 3 months and about 100 posts, my view is that this is a great site populated by great people for the most part.
Alex is always there to give us laugh and to help us laugh at ourselves. He gets my #1 vote.
Sway and BF have been great too. Tie for 2nd place.
Chuckles will be OK if he can ever get over the inferiority complex of having a multi-hull.
The rest of you either keep me informed or laughing my ass off.

Hey I like that Certified Old Fart thing. How do I get certified? We should start a thread to see how many of us there are.

You have to sit on it and rotate. Pinching helps.

(no personal experience).
