billyruffn will become famous soon enough
Airborne Laser

Has nothing to do with sailing, but hop over to HotAir.com and have a look at this:

Hot Air » Blog Archive » Video CGI: Airborne laser destroys scud missile

Wonder when they'll have it miniaturized and cheap enough for a masthead mounting. Wicked way to keep the pirates at bay.

President Reagan would have loved it.

I can see it now, my masthead mounted ABL, with pinpoint targeting to hit the sweetspot of an approaching Sportfisherman engine's electronic ignition modules - thereby spoiling their plans of rudely throwing wakes across our bow.

I bet you could light a grill in high winds with one of those too. Sweet.

I do science and technology insertion for the US Navy, and we just got some briefs on nano-technology applications you would not believe. The mast mounted laser is not beyond our reach now. And a few other Star Trek gags are coming up soon too. Wild wild world.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Maybe CD could get his batteries recharged in a couple of milliseconds of laser focus on his solar pamella's
