Has anyone noticed
the headlines talking about all the cancelled flights, due to the price of fuel????
I just think it's kinda interesting... with Henry Kissinger talking about the 1 world government being ushered in and all.
That's the good thing about sailing. Wind power is free power. [of course you do need wind.]
Kinda makes me wonder if people are going to be making their own biodiesal fuel to compensate for all of the stuff going on.

I believe the majority of cancelled flights are the result of bypassed maintenance schedules.

Makes you wonder, in the last 30 days two fairly new airlines filed BK due to the high cost of jet fuels, now all of a sudden airlines are grounding planes for wiring inspections ???..............makes you wonder.
Also makes you wonder what's going on when big airline mogals perfer to start new businesses in places like Brazil

Thanks Pappy,
The first article I read a few days ago mentioned it was about the high cost of fuel.
And yes, it does make me wonder.

The "bottom line" is the top mgmt and owners will do what is best for them, and ONLY THEM!
My best friend, years ago, started "AIR FLORIDA"..........made money til one crashed in the POTOMAC, dissolved the company, him and his buddies walked away with millions......
Then started up "NORTHEAST AIRLINES"..... YANKEES paid for that one flying between NY/NJ to South Florida........sucked it dry for 3 years then folded that company and walked away with more millions.........
All during that time him and his buddies were flying drugs on the flights.....
remember back then employees walked AROUND the gates !?!
No retribution for him, he's passed!
The WORLD is getting VERY GREEDY!

No, I haven't seen "all" the cancelled flights because of fuel. Haven't seen any mention of ANY flights cancelled because of fuel costs. Hear in the US, an airline would have to be pretty dumb to do that, since it could be required to rebook the passengers on any other available flight--at the airline's expense.
Flights that are not booked full or near full, often WERE cancelled, but most airlines have long since adjusted their schedules to deal with this. Most major carriers have been flying nearly at capacity for a couple of years now, they've gotten over the disruptions of 9/11 and fuel costs alike by selling off larger aircraft and cutting back schedules.
OTOH both Delta and American cancelled thousands of MD80 flights because of a pissing fight with the FAA over maintenance issues. And while Delta is flying them again, Delta also lie about a lot of things. Their maintenance depots and personnel are no better than American's, so one has to ask, how come American is cancelling thousands of flights and ground 300+ aircraft, while Delta got 'em flying again?
The whole story hasn't come anywhere near out, I'm sure. This is going to be very ugly and very embarassing for someone.

Would it not be political suicide to let it be known that the problems with airlines right now was the high cost of fuels, which would almost guarantee a political joust over how f'ed up our economy is.
So what better deception could there be than to have the media cloak it under a pissing match with the FAA

The high cost of fuel is a sign that our economy is not as f'ed up as you think it is. If it were f'ed up, there would be less demand, and the price would drop. This isn't happening.

Pappy, wasn't it Ben Franklin who said any two men can keep a secret--as long as one of them is dead?
If the real reason behind the grounds was fuel costs, do you really think a host of maintenance workers and crew chiefs would all keep their mouths shut about the electrical problems being faked? No way. Those 300 aircraft that American grounded usually fly out FULL, and they sell out their last seats at 2x-3x the price that Delta charges, on the same runs. Those aircraft make a solid dollar every time they fly, and since fuel surcharges can be passed on to the customers daily, they are simply not an issue.
