A sure sign I'm getting old

I was scheduled to move the boat this weekend from the upper Chesapeake to Longport NJ via Delaware Bay. Did not like the look of the front that would be moving through this weekend so I cancelled the trip. In my younger days I would have said the hell with it and gone. I'd like to think I've gotten wiser but the reality is I think I'm just becoming an old fart.

I would hate to be the one to disagree with you.

I think about my ability to heal each time I have to go up the mast now. Back in the old days, I thought the worst that could happen is dying. Now I realize barely surviving is probably worse. I'm getting old too but it beats the alternative so far.

I'm not that old but sometimes feel like I am, especially when my back is acting up. I know it's pretty bad when I drop something and then think about wether I really need the item that badly or not. And if I do, I might try to scootch it onto my foot and try to 'hackysack' up into my hands. Tell me it gets better!!!
