A little observed advantage to the Giu II is the skateboard facility aft of the cockpit. Fred's going to have a riot doing half-pipes and other acrobatics. Although I'm sure the fold-down ping pong table at the rear of the "old" Giulietta will be missed.

I never really noticed the stern of the old Giulietta before. It appears that if you Med-moored the boat that a fork-lift truck could easily load and unload off of it. Perhaps palletized cases of herring?

Does anyone else think this revolutionary revival of the Dutch flute boat should be made a "sticky" here at sailnet? This hull form promises tremendous load carrying capacity that will be of enduring interest to the cruising and live-aboard sailor. No doubt, our intrepid Portagee will chime in with notes on the proper care and stowage of mackeral and cod for those looking to make a living while cruising. Perhaps this should be a "sticky" at the top of ALL the forums due to it's tremendous significance.

I've never understood the reluctance, even outright abhorence, of some to take advantage of advances in technology. Even though the old Giulietta was clearly past her prime, and a new boat thus required, do we see the least bit of gratitude for the freely given efforts of a renowned architect?
