How'd you like that AEI seminar?
Have not been able to watch it yet. SOrry. I will.

Here's your boy, CD, on the pages of the Wall Street Journal. Generally liked by conservatives and regraded as one himself, there is some concern that he's a bit off the farm on this one in some details like government involvement and subsidies. You'll note also that he fails to mention nuclear power which basically puts wind power on the shelf economically. Interesting nonetheless.

I think that Pickens plan is more about power transmission lines, rather then wind power. He wants the feds to go around the states and issue those rights.

We haven't talked much about US oil shale reserves here. It is profitable to extract at about $40 a gallon and we have TWICE as much estimated shale oil reserves as ALL the oil that has ever been used!!

I love ol' T.Boone.
He's nuttin' but a good ol' boy don't cha know. (he is a straight shooter)

It wouldn't have anything to do with the over 30,000 acres of West Texas dirt (that won't grow so much as a weed) he owns?

(Mr. Carrol Shelby owns just about that much as well and he said
"I tried chicken farmin', the chickens didn't like the heat, I tried ranchin', the cows damn near starved, so, I started a BBQ and chili sauce company)

Energy matters are apparently no big concern to your Congress. They're planning on taking the month of August off and, when they wrap up things this week it's projected that they'll be in DC for only six weeks of the rest of the term. Drilling rigs are standing by.

From today's USA Today

Check out the estimates no natural gas as well as crude oil in this article. Also note the amount of oil spilled of Ca. since the Santa Barbara incident and then the relative numbers for sources of ocean pollution. Yup, nature "pollutes" more than we do!

Why the Dock Monitor is wrong on oil

Here's a pretty good article on the matter at hand and how soon we can get things down to a more managable price. Hint: Part of it only took a 20 minute speech by the President.
