OK, my wife tried the bread night before last.... Result was not good. She wouldn't even let me try it. (Are you sure the yeast is 2 3/4 TABLESPOONS and not teaspoons?????)
Last night she tried again and cut the yeast Waaay back..... and I broke a tooth! Actually it was very good. Steaming hot with lots of butter. I had to attend a meeting last night and didn't eat dinner. Gott home around 9pm as the bread (2.0) was coming out of the oven. So, thats what I had for dinner. MMMMmmmmmm.

My wife bakes various kinds of bread - from scratch, and I can relate to Giu's photos and descriptions. Her bread is "to die for" . . . especially her rustic kalamata olive loaf, sliced and dipped in rosemary infused extra virgin olive oil, while still hot from the oven.
I'm a bit confused by the chef's photo though. Giulietta is a radiantly beautiful woman, but what's odd about this picture?
She looks like she just walked off a fashion model stage. When my wife bakes bread, there's dough under her fingernails and flour dusted all over her.

Mr. Sailingdog, I will give the recipe for the sweet bread, we call it BRIOCHE, as I don't know the name in English. Is it a yellowish bread inside? that is slightly sweet?? If that's the one, I will post the recipe tonight. Thanks.

Mr. T34C, is you wife using the right yeast? Please tell her not to use the white powder we here call "baking powder", that is a special one for cakes only, and doesn't work with bread dough.
DON'T USE THIS.
USE THIS bellow
You need bakers yeast, that looks like this in the photo bellow.

or this (but I don't like the poweder one bellow.
It's cold and humid to the touch, I dont't know the right name in English, but it tastes very sour.
Also I don't know how to measure with spoons, you need 40 grams of bakers yeast that is 1.4 ounces. Where didi you read about using the spoons?
I am sorry you didn't like my bread, are you doing something wrong?
I am very curious now.

No he did not, I am very tidy and clean in the kitchen..and I use a cooking robot and computer, called Thermomix. maybe you should buy one to your wife. Cooks by induction and you save money and time.

Giulietta, I printed your bread recipe and I will give it to Mechele, we do not bake much, but I am looking forward to trying your bread! Thanks again!
Tell me more about the Thermomix, we have not used one.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Mrs. G- I liked the bread very much. My wife used the dried yeast, not bakers yeast. The first try didn't go very well. I think the types of yeast available here are likely different than what you use. She is going to try the bakers yeast next time. (3rd try)
Tablespoons and teaspoons are the units of measure we use here in cooking. They are used for measuring smaller amounts of dry ingredients. 3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon, 16 tablespoons= 1 cup.

Mr. Maxon, here is the Thermomix Alexandre bought for me. It was a gift I wanted many times, and he too because I cook for him too.
I like it very much as I now save a lot in gas bills and it cooks very very fast.
It's very good to cook for the kids and i have more time for me now.
I cook every thing with it, from fish in the salt, to soups, pizza dough, ice creans, sorbet, lemonade..etc..it's cooking by induction, very fast and easy
It's a woman's multi tool. I am very happy with it.
It has a scale built in, and you add the ingredients as you go, measuring the wights, it then heats, grinds, shakes, staeams, etc. (the only thing it does not do is bake).
can you buy this in America?
Here is the linking to thermomix

Hi Giulietta!
I might have to get one of those for Jayme... they are pretty incredible little machines.
Hope you guys are doing well!

My turn. I found the good yeast in the butter section at the store, needs to be cold. Also used bread flour. Counting down to putting it in the oven.
Results. Mine tastes pretty good for the first try! Its not quite done in the middle, but getting too done on the bottom. Have to work that out. Maybe a little more salt. Maybe a little less water than what I used. I am terrible at measuring, which is key for baking. But still very yummy. I am going to work on it and use it at work. Much cheaper than buying $3.00 loaves of bread.
