Tomorrow is Spread Positive Rep Day

Tomorrow (or today if tomorrow is yesterday, or today in being that tomorrow is actually yesterday or a day(s) past) - a highly achievable goal is to spread positive reputation points to posters that you normally do not give them to.

Here is why. The system sucks as we all agree - but they do make a difference. I generally give them out to folks that post once in a blue moon - or have been members of the community for years but have a low post count. I do it because it is a form of encouragement. Something flattering with that extra green thingy when you do UserCP - is a nice thing to see. Much nicer than the nasty ones we all have been victim of whether we warranted it or not.

It does bring positive change - and just like you would hold the door open for someone entering a store, your place of business, or just because you can... It is always noticed. Maybe not by you directly or immediately - but perhaps by everyone else that they deal with.

I know as well, I have gotten some fairly nice PMs, just from doing such. And, after the Democratic Bad Rep (jokingly as it may have been) - its good to have a day that instead of everyone waiting for the next tango in the posts to occur that a little extra can be done and still waste the same amount of time...

What say you? Tomorrow as POSITIVE REP DAY - MAKE A NEW FRIEND or REUNITE WITH an OLD one...

Just a thought ....

What a stupid idea. I am giving you a negative rep for it.

Darnit, tried to give you a positive, but I gotta spread it around first.

Good idea. Maybe it'll help get rid of the "spread it around" note I get when I try to put in a positive rep point.

Everyone who responds to your post will recieve a positive rep point from me this evening. I have yet given a point and it is about time. I have learned a tremendous amount of information this site and it is about time I say Thank You to all those that have helped educate me. There will also be a few that will recieve points if they don't respond as some may not be able to sign on today.

Happy Positive Rep Day!

Jim

(also hug a teacher or nurse as it is their week also)

I think the system limits how often you can give a specific person rep, whether good or bad. Otherwise CD would have Cam in the red boxes...

Good luck Jody.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

ok, I'll do my part to artificially raise the goodwill.
Geez, I sound like a democrat.

It does. In a moment of weakness I tried to give Art a positive rep point yesterday and Sailnet tells me I have to "spread it around" first. Hell, I've been spreading it all my life and now Sailnet tells me I need to do it more. Sorry Art, I tried
